can this trimmer be seen in Home Depot stores

Asked by: al
I believe so. It's on display in my local Home Depot stores, I suspect you can see it near you too.

How much does the unit weigh compared to gas models, how much assembly is necessary, and how is it started?

Asked by: clueless
Hi, this unit is 13.3 pounds, there is very little assembly required.. the shield and top handle and possibly attaching the lower and upper shaft together. To start the trimmer you simply press the trigger after the battery is inserted.

The description indicates it accepts attachments. Is this product compatible with the echo edger attachment that works with the 2 cycle gas model?

Asked by: zack
Thanks for asking, Zack. There is an edger attachment that is compatible with the power head of this unit. Please contact your local Home Depot for the edger attachment and complete your search by using model # 99944200470AB. Great question! Thank you for taking an interest in the ECHO 58-Volt line! I hope this helps! –Keri

Customer Reviews

58-Volt Lithium-Ion Brushless Cordless String Trimmer - 2.0 Ah Battery and Charger Included is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 47.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Runtime, professional gas like power. Bought this recently but have been eyeing it for a while. I have a 1+ acre yard with a significant driveway and slope to take care of. As far as the trimmer part - runs great. like the head - and plenty of power to cut down thick grass, weeds etc. I even use .095 line on it, on purpose with all the brush and stuff in my back yard. More importantly I also run the echo edger attachment on it. Yes it's not on their list and some say you're not supposed to, but I think it's a horrible oversight on their part. This cordless machine turns it just fine. Slow or high speed - doesn't care. I keep it on high mostly because I like that extra punch and will feather the trigger a bit. but I run the trimmer on low speed. Anyway runs great and I can edge my drive and patio - then trim the house and back often twice on one battery charge. 4AH battery. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Durable, Powerful and Works Great I purchased the trimmer 2 years ago and this will be my 3rd season using it. It can handle the tough jobs with no problems. I have 5 acres with a tree line, drainage ditch and fencing. I have used it to clear the ditch and had no problems. The battery runs strong for a good 45min of work time on the high setting. If you want a powerful string trimmer and don't want to deal with a gas engine this is the unit you want. I also bought the blower and it uses the same battery pack/charger which is nice.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Echo 56V Trimmer My wife wanted to use an Echo PAS-260 and its attachments. However, she had been expressing frustration as to how difficult it was to start up, especially when cold. We bought one and we are completely convinced this is well thought-out product, finely-executed. The electric motor, even on its 'turtle' setting, provides plenty of power for grass-edging and general weed-wacking duties. When switch is set to 'hare' (fast), it knocks down thicker brush and does it rather handily. Battery provides plenty of power and last more than enough. Five-year warranty, including battery, is a great selling point. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Roughly 15 minutes) and 5 rental properties. Avg trim Tim is 10 min each of trimming. Very nice. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Cuts out every 2 seconds. The trimmer is great except that it seems to have a battery problem that I've read about in other reviews like consumer reports. I've bought 2 units and both had this problem. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better than expected I bought this because I'm tired of trying to start my 4 stroke Troy Built. Performance is very comparable to that of a dual string gas, and being able to answer questions from my wife, without having to shut of the engine(who only seems to ask questions when I rev any machine) was a unexpected joy. I did 3 lawns that day to see how long the battery would last, I had 2 bars after I worked the machine for an hour. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 1 out of 5 by from very disappointing I had just purchased this weed eater and when I put the battery on the charger the indicator light said it the battery was defective thinking it was because I just got it. let it charg8for 3 days and the indicator light said it was still charging so I used the weed eater and it would always die after 2 seconds. For what I paid for this I was VARY disappointed that the battery already was bad guess I will have to stick with gas weed eater never again will I purchase a electric weed eater thought I would try it for a change. Bad idea
