Hi, this unit is 13.3 pounds, there is very little assembly required.. the shield and top handle and possibly attaching the lower and upper shaft together. To start the trimmer you simply press the trigger after the battery is inserted.

Great question, clueless. This product has a 2AH battery, therefore the weight would be 11.75 pounds. This includes the power head, the trimmer attachment, and the battery. Hi clueless,
Thanks for visiting our site!
This Echo 58-volt String Trimmer weighs 13.3 lbs. That compares to the Echo SRM-225 gas trimmer that weighs 12.1 lbs. without fuel.
No assembly is needed for this model, simply snap the two halves together in the middle of the shaft.

A 4 amp hour (Ah) battery will provide extended run time over the 2 Ah battery that this unit comes with.

58-Volt Lithium-Ion Brushless Cordless String Trimmer with 2 Ah Battery is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 39.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better than expected I bought this because I'm tired of trying to start my 4 stroke Troy Built. Performance is very comparable to that of a dual string gas, and being able to answer questions from my wife, without having to shut of the engine(who only seems to ask questions when I rev any machine) was a unexpected joy. I did 3 lawns that day to see how long the battery would last, I had 2 bars after I worked the machine for an hour. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Echo 56V Trimmer My wife wanted to use an Echo PAS-260 and its attachments. However, she had been expressing frustration as to how difficult it was to start up, especially when cold. We bought one and we are completely convinced this is well thought-out product, finely-executed. The electric motor, even on its 'turtle' setting, provides plenty of power for grass-edging and general weed-wacking duties. When switch is set to 'hare' (fast), it knocks down thicker brush and does it rather handily. Battery provides plenty of power and last more than enough. Five-year warranty, including battery, is a great selling point. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Trimmer My brother purchased one first. I was impressed and went out and got my own. It has all the power you could ever want and I get about 30-45 minutes of heavy use on one battery. I have ran a blade on it and it does a great job. Today I cleared about 1/2 acre of grass and mesquite with 1 battery using the blade. Everyone who has used it at work is planning on buying one. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Will never go back First the (only) negative: I bought one, took it home, and it would only run for seconds before shutting off, then starting back up. It was horrible. I exchanged it (so glad I gave a second chance) for another of the same. I have two acres I mow. It's quiet, it lasts for the yard, has no fumes and no need to buy gas. It feels as sturdy as my Dewalt lithium drill, not at all like a toy. I guess there's one other small complaint, the "trigger pull," if that's the term. To hold the trigger down takes a bit of pressure, which gets uncomfortable by the end of two acres. I would love to see those kinks worked out, but even so, I wouldn't even consider another gas weed trimmer. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This is Awesome, delayed motor start frustrating This is great and I think far better than dealing with a gas trimmer. Battery seems to last forever, I have 3 acres and I try to find more things to trim when I'm done since there's still more battery, also nice that it doesn't lose performance as the battery dies. Two negatives I have found. 1 there is a very short delay when pulling the trigger, I am pretty sure that the first millimeter is turning the unit on this saving battery power during storage and takes place of an on off switch for the speed control. A short timer to keep the unit on would be great, like and auto shutdown if trigger is not pulled for a while. 2 where the motor is attached it seems there is a bit of play. I have highly recommended this unit to friends despite the very small flaws; but I simply can't give 5 stars as these are simple fixes for your guys in product development. Rated 5 out of 5 by from awesome trimmer!!!! I bought this cordless trimmer about a year ago, I chose it due to my previous experience with echo products. I must say I have been amazed at how much power this unit has. I trim three different yards weekly ranging from a half acre to two acres and still have half a battery left. This is a GREAT product!! Rated 5 out of 5 by from Never go Back to ANY GAS trimmer again I worked for sometime at a DOE site as a subcontractor running a Gas trimmer for eight hours a day. I was not interested n a trimmer that did not meet my expectations for power and performance and was not at all impressed with other electric trimmers, lack of power, operation time, and capabilities. My wife wanted me to get an electric because she did not want to smell the gas. I actually went into to buy an Echo Gas trimmer and saw this electric. I was impressed right away with it's construction, battery capacity, and the attachments that were available for it. The coupler that attaches the various heads was the best and sturdiest I have ever seen. I took it home charged the battery (1 hour ) edged my house, 1/2 acre back yard and other areas around the property. The battery still has at least half the charge it had when I started using it and it sliced thru some very tough thick weeds and grass. Echo is now and will always be my trimmer of choice.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good power I bought this trimmer last week because I was tired of fighting my troybilt every weekend. No more ethanol problems. I am now looking at the blower and trimmer. I like that all the batteries are universal. It is a little heavy but a trimmer strap makes it easy. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
