Rated 5 out of 5 by WOW! PERFECT PLEASURE Have been using PxxxxxPxo which claims to be 200mph, for quite sometime. For a change wanted to try the PB-255LN, what a difference it made. Filled it 50:1 gas mix, primed it and started the engine. The engine noise is very low and might I add a very powerful blower. Was able to lift the dead and stuck leaves from the ground causing bare spots on the lawn. My old blower was unable to do that task. Very light weight. After this experience went and bought the Echo SRM225 trimmer, PE225 edger and the CS352 saw. It's party time. Will be getting rid of my old gear pretty soon. Overall excellently satisfied. Rated 1 out of 5 by I WOULD AVOID ECHO BLOWERS DUE TO PROBLEMS WITH FLYWHEEL SHEARING OFF!!! I would avoid Echo Blowers especially the PB-XXX lines. I've always purchased Echo equipment (weed eaters, hedge trimmers, etc.) and had success with them in the past. I purchased this blower in 2010 and after about a year it became increasingly more difficult to start but eventually after 20 or 30 pulls it would sometimes crank. I discovered through research these units have a defect in the flywheel which controls the ignition and will randomly shear off. The key is molded inside the flywheel and must fit into a slot on the shaft. After using the blower, the key starts to shear thus making the unit harder to start until it eventually wears completely off. I replaced the flywheel myself ($45 part) )because I did not keep the receipt from HD and could not prove the purchase date for warranty. A few months later same problem again. When the flywheel starts shearing it will become loose and move out of position thus throwing the ignition timing off. By constantly cranking 20 or 30 times you can sometimes get it to align up again and the unit will start if you are lucky. Eventually the key will completely shear off allowing the to become completely out of whack!!! See attached picture. January 14, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Echo hand held Blower After year's of marginal quality leaf blowers wasting my time and efforts, I finally spent the dough and got ahold of a Pro model by Echo. This thing is lightweight, has cruise control, and STARTS very easily, and alway's. Let me tell you, this one is the BOMB ! October 29, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by 2 years old and it still screams What can I say? I bought this before last season and used it for two years now and still love it. If you follow the directions it's perfect. This blower is made to scream because once it get warm, about 45 seconds it goes like it's on fire. When you first start it up it works fine but after the warm up it really runs. I have had power tools that have screamed for the first 45 seconds then when warm just couldn't man up. This is the first echo anything I bought and am now an echo fan over Stihl. I have a Stihl chainsaw from the 70's and a Stihl hedge trimmer too. I believe that the echo equipment is comparable to the Stihl stuff but except that the Echo starts easier and stays running. Besides, the Echo stuff is just a little better priced. So I am in the market for a chainsaw because that Stihl is such a pain to keep running and the chain keeps loosening and you guessed it, I'm buying an Echo. September 1, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Updated review Since writing the last review several days ago which was just posted yesterday, I've used the blower about 5 times. It seems I've worked out the issues in starting and it goes like this: press primer bulb 2 times go full on choke pull cord go 1/2 choke pull cord 2nd time and unit starts right up go off choke & run blower without issue So I actually borrowed another reviewers idea for starting and blower does start no issue. I hope this continues to start this way 10 years from now. Again time will tell, but so far happy with this purchase... October 9, 2013
