To answer your other question, Echo's Speed Spool is very easy to reload. Just look for, and align both arrows located on the outside edge of the trimmer head. Cut a length of trimmer line, approximately 15 feet. Insert one end of the trimmer line into one of the eyelets and push it in until it comes out the other side. Grab both ends of the trimmer line and pull until they are both even. Now grab the Speed Spool and rotate it clockwise until there's only about 4 inches remaining on each end. If one side is slightly longer than the other, you can cut excess off with a sharp knife or scissors. Read Less

Answer:
I always use the cross-fire 095. I think it holds up better and lasts longer. I always use approximately 15 ft each time as I also have the same trimmer, not sure of the model though.
I am sure if you go back to HD, they would be happy to show you how to re-load the line. It is a simple task and very easy to do.

Answer:
Your trimmer is designed for use with .095 line so why would you want to go with a lighter gauge? The .095 will cut better and last a lot longer, the lighter string gauge is usually designed for trimmers with less torque like electric or cordless models. The SRM-225 is very powerful, it will destroy the .080 line.

Answer:
The .095 is what ships with the SRM-225 and would be the recommended line to use as a replacement. The below web address will provide information on the winding procedures.

The SRM-225 uses .095 line. The Echo 282 foot line ending in '063 has UV protection. The Echo 250 foot '070 line does not.

Answer:
If you're relating to whether the plastic line becomes brittle during storage, I would say no. I've had a thinner mil line for almost 7 years before purchasing the thicker line so I shouldn't have to worry about buying anymore for quite sometime since my use is strictly for personal home use. I still have some have some of the old line left and it works just as good as the day I bought it.

Answer:
As nylon line becomes old, it will dry out and become brittle. ECHO recommends soaking the nylon line in warm water. The water will restore flexibility reducing the amount of breakage.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by The Best After trying many other brands that claim to be tough, I finally took a look at recommendations here at Home Depot and ended up trying this echo trimmer line. Now I understand why the professional landscaping crews use it. It simply lasts longer. June 12, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Very Brittle Don't know if I got a bad batch, but was very brittle and breaks easily into about 1/4" pieces. Going to be finding pieces of this for years to come. May 3, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Trimmer line Very tough line, but if you have a lots of bushes and vine type ground cover I would purchase the next higher grade of trimmer line. I have a quarter acre lots with old established hedges, ground cover and years of overgrowth. To get 5 stars this line would have to be indestructible April 12, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by The Line That Saves Time and Money Line has two qualities I was looking for; Toughness and flexibility. The toughness of the line allows you to buy thinner line, put more line on the reel and cut down the toughest weeds without having to "tap out line" every few seconds which saves on line. The flexibility allows the line to easily spin off the reel without causing a lot of birds nests where you have to disassemble the reel, undo, and rewind all the time like the last batch of line I used. I have gone through two reels without a bird nest where with my old line I would have had had 10 bird nests to clear and used up 4 reels. Time saver, money saver. June 2, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by CROSS-FIRE 282 FT 0.095 IN. PREMIUM NYLON TRIMMER LINE I HAVE BOUGHT WEED-EATER STRING THAT RAN OUT OFF THE SPOOL WITHIN 2 MONTHS.
