Customer Questions & Answers

How long can you keep a gas/powerblend mixture????

How long does this product that includes a fuel stabilizer extend the useful life of a gas/powerblend mixture?? Can we mix a gallon and keep it a year and have the echo product crank on the first few tries? Do we still try to use a non ethenol gas?
Asked by: Nick
Always store fuel in a cool dry area in a closed approved no-spill container. Do not store fuel longer than 30 days. Fuel will deteriorate and lose volatility over time. Fuel will start deteriorating in under 30 days. This can even start after just 2 weeks with e10 [ethanol] blended fuels which will absorb moisture and start turning to varnish very quickly. Adding a fuel stabilizer can extend storage up to 90 days which mixes evenly with the gasoline and contains anti-oxidants that prevent the hydrocarbons in the fuel from varnishing (deteriorating). Do not allow moisture to enter the fuel container. Make sure to always install the gas can spout cover and close the tank vent. Water is heavier than gasoline and will settle to the bottom eventually finding it’s way into your engine’s fuel tank where it could cause severe engine failure.A fuel stabilizer can be added to the fuel to prolong fuel life. ECHO Power Blend has fuel stabilizer in the mix. A fuel stabilizer will only prolong the fuel life for 90 days. Fuel that is over 90 days old should never be used. Using fuel that is over 90 days old can cause carburetor and engine related problems. Sea Foam can also be used to stabilize fuel. Sea Foam also helps clean fuel injectors, carburetor jets, and cleans carbon.

use with Sta-Bil

Can this be used with gas that has already had a fuel stabilizer added?
Asked by: Ric
The ECHO products can be used with additional stabilizers. However, if you are using ECHO's Oil, it already has stabilizers in it so it would not be needed.

Customer Reviews

Power Blend 2.6 oz. 2-Stroke Engine Oil with Fuel Stabilizer is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 10.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Review for Echo Power Blend Oil 2.6 oz. I have several 2 stroke engines that take the 50:1 ratio, neither of which is Echo brand. Eventually, I do want to upgrade to mostly Echo equipment someday: until then all I use is Echo power blend oil because I believe it to be the best! Pros: *Cheap *Easy to find at Home Depot *The bottle is always clean. If you buy Homelite oil or some other brands, there is often oil all over the bottle when you pick it up. *Keeps my engines running well! Cons: For me there aren’t any. TIP: I always drain the fuel out of my 2 cycle engines when I’m done using them for the season, and they’re still running fine after 3 years! All in all, 5 out of 5 I would recommend this product. Thanks for reading!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Echo blend 2.6 oil I have been using this 2.6 blend for years to one gallon of unleaded fuel to make up 50.1 and it has done me right so just use two bottles of 2.6 Echo mix to 2 gallons of 50.1 and it should last a good while for a regular home owner.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So Convenient Just dump in a 1 gallon gas can, shake it up, and you're ready to go tackle some yardwork! I use this for my Echo SRM-225 trimmer which requires a 50:1 ratio. The fuel stabilizer is a nice bonus too.
