Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 74 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good Quality The PAS-225SB is perfect for light duty maintenance of regularly maintained yards, it works well with a single string / two cutting line head, and is very lightweight. The PAS-225 also shares the attachments with the PAS-266. If you need more power the PAS-266 is a much better choice for heavy clearing jobs in overgrown areas and wont bog down on two string / four cutting line heads like the PAS-225 does. I use the premix 92 Octane Ethanol Free Fuel that comes in a can and always swap out the factory head in favor of push load heads, details below. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by not really happy while engine and quick start are great SO FAR (let's see next year). The String Spool mechanism is far from great. The special rewind feature seems to allow the string to overlap/bind and prevent tap-to-extend feature from working well. The spool release is hard to work with whether to release or reseat spool. I prefer my old Toro design on the spool mechanism BY FAR. October 2, 2015

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Woulda coulda shouldA I bought a cheap trimmer at the beginning of the season and it broke two months in. Said screw it. Bought the top of the line highly recommended Echo. Very happ with everything. Easy to put together. Easy to start. Runs great. September 8, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best trimmer I own... no doubt the best trimmer I used. worth the money. easy start and string advance works great. very powerful unit. recommend. September 8, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great trimmer I bought this trimmer to replace a Black and Decker 18v model that ran through batteries in 7 minutes of use. I had originally bought a Ryobi trimmer that took attachments but returned it for this one since the Ryobi's reviews were pretty bad. This trimmer is heavy - it's not as agile as an electric model but that's to be expected. The guard is also pretty small and useless. You'll want to be wearing heavy jeans while using this. Aside from that this trimmer is solid. The 5 year warranty, availability of parts and maintenance kits, and the range of attachments makes this trimmer a no-brainer. I was able to do my large corner lot in about 20 minutes. I rarely had the throttle wide-open as it was powerful enough at half-open to get things done. I did have to stop midway through to re-feed the string but this model, having been open to people on the rack, might have just had the trimmer head removed enough to get the line tangled up. After readjusting the line I had no issues whatsoever. Starting this trimmer was easy. Third pull with full choke and it roared to life. I'd recommend this trimmer to anyone who is looking for an attachment-capable trimmer that sports a commercial-grade engine and Echo's reliability record. September 5, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Purchase This weedeater has been great...easy to start and has the easy load head for the cutting string...excellent product...would highly recommend it. June 23, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Engine great, trimmer not so much Started on the first pull every time, which kept me from throwing across the yard, as I have many, many other string trimmers in my lifetime. Engine-wise, this was an awesome trimmer. Unfortunately, having spent three times what I normally do, in hopes of getting a good quality string trimmer - not a "disposable after one season" trimmer as I have in the past - I expected the actual "trimming" to be much easier. The string bound up in the head & broke off just like the El Cheapo trimmers of old. Not a bit of improvement there. short, starts great, runs great, but is still a string trimmer, not a machine that magically trims grass & leaves you feeling happy & content when you're done.
