Rapid Loader Trimmer Head is rated 3.1 out of 5 by 38.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works Great I've had this head for over ten years and never a problem. I have 12 acres use it on a echo 230 weed eater. The newer ones may not be as good as some have said. But for all the whiners saying it goes through line back up and get it off the fence. This will break any line. I use .105 line and it works great. This isn't for trees no matter how small. Get a blade if it's small saplings.

The spool was always getting tangled up and it was a huge ordeal to fix it. This is a huge improvement, with a slight learning curve. For those saying that the precut line is too expensive, you're right. Buy a spool and just cut it to length. It's a little time consuming but mindless. Do it while watching TV. I think the ones they sell are 8" long, but I prefer a bit shorter- maybe 6" to 7". I keep a handful of extra line in my pocket while trimming and when one breaks, I can swap them in about 30 seconds. Pliers are not necessary to pull the spent string out- just pull from the inside. Installation might have taken me 30 minutes - since it's universal fit, there are some nuts and such that you won't use, and the instructions aren't perfectly clear, but once I figured it out, it's worked like a charm and hasn't required any corrections.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent for heavy jobs of thick brush FIVE YEARS OF HISTORY BEHIND THIS REVIEW I have a great deal of trimming to do around the trees and creeks in my yard, as well as on some large commercial properties that were only mowed/trimmed every six to eight weeks. Thin line in the standard bump-head trimmers was not thick enough and constantly wore down. I purchased this style of trimmer head to use thicker line. What many trimmers come with is .080" - .095" diameter line. I use .155" Rhino line that I buy in a 100' spool. I cut a few pairs of lengths and bring them out with me when running the trimmer. If I trim grass and weeds only, I never replace the line. When I take out small privet or trim against a chain link fence or by rocks and concrete, the line does wear. Need to clear a fence of honeysuckle? A nice strong Echo trimmer with some thick, strong line will make short work of it. If you are in the market for a trimmer, the Echo bump heads are easy to wind and don't tangle like most do. It's thinner line than I use, but cuts right through tall grass. That should suffice for most people, unless you get annoyed by scalping the grass when you bump the trimmer head to feed line. For five years, I have been running my Echo srm-230 with this rapid-loader style head with no issues, aside from replacing it twice due to wearing the head down on concrete or stone. I have cleared undergrowth in the woods by my house without any resistance. I couldn't be more satisfied. If you are not going to use thicker line, maybe you don't need one of these heads. If, however, you are dealing with a bunch of thick vine and other difficult to trim growth, this is the upgrade you need. Don't buy line pre-cut and complain about the price. Buy a spool of the thick stuff and cut it yourself. Use care when trimming along privacy fences or other wood landscaping. A strong trimmer with thick line will gouge. I COULDN"T RECOMMEND THIS STYLE TRIMMER HEAD STRONGLY ENOUGH FOR THOSE WITH BIG JOBS OR THICK TRIMMING OR JUST A NEED TO HAVE A MORE DESTRUCTIVE PIECE OF YARD EQUIPMENT.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Rapid Loader Replacement The packaged had been opened and the fitting I needed was missing. I took it back and the other four packages were opened as well and I did not want to take to the chance to but it and went to another store.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrible design The string barely lasts a few minutes before you need to add more. I'm looking to replace the head on our Echo with a traditional string head.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loved it We bought this product years ago. We love it. Just bought another one. The old one started throwing strings about a yr ago so we are replacing it. If I get 1 or 2 seasons of no throwing strings out of it, it would still be well worth the money. Cut extra strings to carry in your pocket and a needle nose pliers for easy replacement of old strings.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Greatest Invention 1st, this head does fit the 210 model. Just put it on mine. Like the other man said, spray eyelets periodically with WD-40 and will last for years. Most of you having problems, make sure your line is not too long, and catching your knife blade. If your knife is dull it will pull out line. Either sharpen the blade, or cut line a hair shorter. Don't be afraid to buy this because of bad reviews. Follow directions, oil once in a while, cut line to right length. Will last for years, and You'll love it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great product! I have used this on my trimmer for close to 7 years now and I love it! I use a very thick line which helps it last longer although it does still wear quickly around chain link fences, concrete and rocks. I don't buy the precut line, I cut my own line... it isn't rocket science. Just spray the eyelets with WD 40 every now and then and it should last you for many years.
