Customer Questions & Answers

I already have the ego battery, can I buy just the blower?

Asked by: Z4PSU
Yes you can. I owned the trimmer for a year, then purchased the blower without charger/battery.

Does this blower have a variable speed?

Asked by: Ronald
Yes—there is a lever that can be toggled to vary the speed, as well as a button that when pressed supplies an extra burst of power.

Does it come with charger and Battery

No it does not. My battery came with EGO self-propelled mower and I use the same battery with this blower.

110 mph 530 CFM Variable-Speed Turbo 56-Volt Lithium-ion Cordless Leaf Blower - Battery and Charger Not Included is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 512.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Battery doesn't last I purchased this unit a month ago based on the consumer reports review, it was very easy to use and very practical for getting on my roof to blow out the gutters, but when I used the blower on high it only lasts 15 minutes and if you use the turbo button for really stubborn debris you only get a few minutes ,on top of that I depressed the turbo button only to have it stay stuck in the turbo position, couldn't free it up. I had it with this toy and brought it back. It is a nice concept but they haven't perfected it and is very expensive.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Powerful Like being able to interchange the batteries with other devices. Wish the turbo button could just lock to stay on.

This tool is an excellent addition to my other EGO equipment, a string trimmer, and the 20" lawn mower. The lawn mower was the first purchase with a 2nd 4 amp-hour battery. The leaf blower arrived quickly and its first task was to blow leaves off the roof and across the front of my parent's house. The blower has a variable speed which is achieved from the pivot-arm switch at the front of the handle and it afforded me great helpfulness in doing just light blowing in small areas to strong pushes of air in larger areas. The turbo boost then could blast the leaves very rapidly where needed. The job is illustrated below.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from More than expected. I have used gas blowers until this one. While it is not as powerful as gas it is close. No more mixing oil, no more hard starts, no more going to gas station, no more smell of fuel.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Believe it or not, it's better than the original! I've owned Ego's original 480cfm blower for over two years and it has been an absolutely fantastic tool. In fact, even after three years on the market it is still among the highest performing blowers on the market... review videos are consistently praising this tool. So how do you improve on a class leading tool, a tool that literally founded and defined an entire category of cordless electric blowers? You make it lighter, smaller, more powerful, better balanced and better looking. This new 530cfm blower is lighter in the hand and balances even better than the original. It's just generally easier to use and is a more dense package, trimming some of the bulk of the previous design. It's also more powerful and comes bundled with the new high capacity 2.5Ah battery pack. Testing this new model back to back with the previous one by blowing a wooden block across my garage floor, the 530cfm model pushed the block an average of almost 11% farther in Turbo mode and 4% farther in High mode. Those numbers are not huge gains, but the extra power is definitely felt and is EXACTLY in line with Ego's claimed output increases. What is really exciting about this blower is the performance increase combined with the higher capacity 2.5Ah battery. Not only does the incredible Turbo mode pump out 530cfm @ 110 MPH, but it does so for the same duration as the 480cfm blower does with the 2Ah pack. To be honest, the 530cfm Turbo mode isn't what most people will find most useful about this new blower kit. What people will likely notice more is the jump to 400cfm @ 85 MPH in High mode for 22 minutes of run time (vs. 385cfm @ 72 MPH for 18 minutes). Since High mode is more than powerful enough for most jobs, this is where the REAL increase is in my opinion. Not that looks should really matter when buying power tools, but it certainly doesn't hurt to have a cool design and this blower looks wicked! With its rear entry honeycomb and floating handle design it certainly looks like something from the future. I've seen some people who are not thrilled with the trigger and speed selector setup, and indicate they would prefer a variable speed trigger for the full speed range. I personally don't mind the separate speed selector and Turbo button, and I think for some people this will force a bit more discipline in how much air is used on a job, potentially extending run times vs. using more air than is necessary. I gave it a 4/5 on value because I feel it is a bit overpriced in Canada, but to be fair, everything has gone up significantly over the last year or so with the exchange rate being what it is lately. I've been absolutely thrilled with this blower so far! I hope it serves me as well as the previous model did, which was two completely trouble-free seasons.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Leaf and Snow Blower This is my second 5 star review for the 530 leaf blower. My first was on how great the Ego threw leaves out of the way with no problem at all. I had plenty of reserve power with the included 2.5AH battery. This review and pics shows how well the 530 tackles snow removal with little effort. Whether it is the sidewalk, driveway, or your vehicles, the 530 does a great job as long as the snow isn't heavy and wet. The colder the temps the better and easier the snow can be blown away. I did my moms driveway, then came home and charged the battery for an hour then did my driveway and felt much better than if I was shoveling all that snow.

Bought this blower a month ago to replace a perfectly good gas blower but arthritis made it hard to pull-start. Already had the Ego hedge trimmer so I use that battery. This blower has plenty of power and lasts about half an hour with an occasional blast on turbo, enough for the average size lawn. It's also quieter than the gas blower. I'm hoping Ego adds a lawn edger (not the trimmer that doesn't leave a clean cut although it's great as a trimmer). I also appreciate Home Depot' service. They gave me a military courtesy discount and shipped it free to the residence after sending it to the wrong store. Great customer service!
