how many batteries come with this mower

Asked by: Mike
Attention... STILL one battery!

What would be the biggest yard recommended for this mower. I have a 1/2 acre city lot.

Asked by: Curious
I use mine on our 1/4 acre property and have to charge it at least once. I do have to deal with a hill though, so that slows me and the mower down.

how well does it cut wet grass

I live near the lake, my grass seems to stay wet most of the day. In shade stays wet all day.
Asked by: callred
This is my first season with the mower. It continuously clogs and I have to stop and remove the grass from underneath the mower. I have tried all three options (mulching, bagging, etc) and none seem to be effective. I have tried mowing in the middle of the day and late afternoon to see if it was the moisture.

Does the mower continue running if you remove the green key while it is running?

I think something funky happened to my Ego mower after running over a long, strong palm leaf. It no longer ramps up to full speed - it immediately starts at high speed. I'm trying to determine if the green key lock was also affected. While the mower is running and I remove the key, it keeps running until I let go of the bail lever. It seems strange if this is normal behavior.
Asked by: MoeR
Regarding concern about leaving key in mower because kids will find it: Mower won't run without battery. I keep the mower folded up, the battery in its charger, and the key strap looped around the bail so I won't lose it. Nobody will be starting that mower by accident. Lock up the charger if you are still concerned.

Plenty of power only used half the battery capacity. It's quiet, and for a lawn mower it looks very very cool too. This was the most well built of all the cordless mowers I researched. It's a little heavy, so storing it by folding it and lifting one hand to stowe like they show on TV actually takes two hands I'm I'm pretty strong. The weight is an advantage however. Some of the cordless mowers I researched were so light, there wasn't enough weight to get a close cut. Too push Eonweight is no problem. So don't bother with the self propelled model unless you have a lot of steep hills to mow. So far, it's a great mower.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Front Wheels Collapsed Bought mover 16 months ago. Loved it until today. The front wheels collapsed rendering the mover unusable. Mover will be shipped out of state for repair. I am told 4-6 week repair time.

It mows and does it very well. I've never used the collector or side shoot so I comment on those aspects. I have 1/2 of land minus the house on top of it. With the 4amp battery I can get the whole front yard done. I then charge it up and while that's happening I use my Ego trimmer and blower to take care of the edges + beer time and the big battery is ready for the back yard. I usually can't do the whole back on a single charge so when it dies and put the smaller 2amp battery in to finish up and then use the small battery on the trimmer to finish. Oh yeah, it sounds like a box fan while mowing so it's extremely quiet.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Needs to be refined Purchased the 20" model. Blade measurement is actually 19 1/2 inches. It may not sound like much but i've found it takes more passes to finish the lawn than my old gas 20" mower. The blade also doesn't pull the grass up enough to cut the finer blades and they tend to lay down and leaves uncut grass. The blade needs to have a higher lift in its shape so it vacuums more and can grab the layed down grass. This would also help with side shoot discharge. Overall the product needs to be refined better to make it more comparable to a gas powered mower. Also without the roar of an engine you forget that there's a sharp spinning blade and you start to feel like you're pushing around something thats more like a toy than a power tool. And of course real devil in the details is how many years i get out of the battery before it needs to be replaced. Only time will tell.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Mower and Excellent Warranty Bought this 2 1/2 years ago and we love it my wife uses it with ease it is very light weight. Battery charges super fast and holds charge very well. Recently motor started making a grinding noise, so I called customer service and realized i hadn't registered it so they were able to help me over the phone. Asked some questions and realized they couldn't fix the problem without replacing the motor. They are sending me a replacement mower at no cost and asked me to recycle the old one. UNREAL! I was in shock talk about standing behind your product. I will be purchasing more EGO products due to the great warranty and excellent customer service. Thank you EGO

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Mower I am a senior lady and previously owned a gas mower. For ease in mowing decided to purchase battery powered mower. Did not need self propelled. I found this mower light and easy to maneuver. Adjustments were easy. I am very pleased with my choice.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Goodbye gas Have owned this mower for 2+ years now and love it. The freedom from gas and oil, and all the complications of a gas engine is so great, No fumes, spills, leaks, transporting and storing gas, pulling on cords, changing spark plugs, etc. Battery charges fast and mower is powerful. Nice to be able to start and stop with the simple press of a button. Quieter than gas mowers. Highly recommended if you own a typical home in a neighborhood and are in the market for a new mower. More expensive than the rest but worth it when considering the simplicity and other expenses that are not needed any longer.
