I actually enjoy mowing lawns because of this mower. Easy to use, easy to store. No gas, no winter storage with hard start in the spring, no air filter, no spark plug. Basically maintenance free. I bought the mower and the edger when they first came out nearly 3 years ago and could not be happier. I have since purchased the blower. I keep the batteries stored in the garage, and the other items in a tool shed outside, and have never had a problem with the mower never starting right up. I did misplace the key, and E-GO sent me one no charge. By the way, this mower has as much power as any gas mower I've ever used, and I've mowed (not professionally) grass for 40 years. I've loaned the mower to my son and son-in-law, and they pop it in their trunk to transport it to their homes. Can't do that with a gas mower.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by H2OSun Highly recommend after 1 year of continuous use
So i waited until after 1 year to write this review. I have a 7500 square ft yard with slight hill. This mower easily cuts that in about 50 minutes. The light weight makes the slight hill inconsequential.
My decision to switch to electric was driven more by wanting to simplify all of my lawn care. Tired of all the maintenance and needing regular and mixed gas. It's really nice being able to use any of the batteries with any of the different pieces of Ego equipment.
Honestly, i would take the very negative reviews with a grain of salt... i don't agree.

The battery died after only having the mower for 3 months and it never lasted the 45 mins that was promised.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by AlexM One year.. dead
This lawn mower lasted us one year. We have a 700 sq ft back yard, and same in the front. One battery charge, would pretty much cut the backyard, then I'd do the front yard the next day. I cut the grass at 2 inches high, twice per week - never letting the grass get over 3 inches high. The electronic motor got weaker and weaker over time. I would keep the blade super sharp (easily sliced through paper after sharpening). Always fully charged battery, and never hit rocks or anything. Nearly perfectly flat yard. The motor just crapped out. NOT the battery. Tested with a new battery to make sure. Now I've dropped over 600 bucks on a lump of plastic, just to be able to hang it on the wall. Oh well, lesson learned. Always buy gas lawn maintenance products, and only from Japan. Headed out to get a Honda mower now.

Included battery was dead and will not take a recharge, a new 5.0 replacement battery cost over $230. The mower worked great after that, but I'm angry that Home Depot sold me this product with a worthless battery because it would have been $100 CHEAPER to buy the 21" version with a working battery. I was ripped off.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Bruce Not as good as advertised
I bought this lawn mower because it was supposed to be powerful and last around 45 minutes on one charge. I have used it several times since I purchased it and have never had the battery last more than 20 or 25 minutes. My lawn in not that big and I cut the grass every week, but it takes me 2, sometimes 3, charges of the battery to get things done. It is a really good thing that the battery only takes 30 minutes to charge or it would take all weekend just to get my lawn cut. I would rather have an electric mower than a gas one, and definitely would rather have a cordless, but I am beginning to feel like I made a $500 mistake.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Mookie Stop Researching and Just Buy This Mower
Never before have I loved a lawn mower and looked forward to mowing my lawn. I now do.
This lawn mower is powerful, easy to use, and quiet. It gets the job done and is a pleasure to use. Not only do I no longer need to worry about running out of gas, I also no longer need to keep gas cans in my garage. A big bonus as I have young kids.
I have a 1/2 acre yard with some major hills. I bought this mower last season and was originally concerned that the battery life would be insufficient to finish the yard and that the mower would be too heavy to use on the hills. I was so concerned, I grilled the home depot employee about the return policy before I made the purchase. After the first use, though, I was hooked.
This mower is lightweight and easy to push. The battery lasts longer than I expected - it really is about 45 minutes (the manufacturer was telling the truth - go figure) and is almost always enough for me to finish my yard. If for some reason I am going slowly and run the battery down before I am finished, it charges up again in 30 minutes or less. Just the right amount of time to take care of another chore (one that I likely noticed needed doing while mowing) or take a quick brake.
Best of all is the noise level. While it is not whisper quiet, it is not unpleasant. It is on the level of a semi-noisy fan. While using this you can hear your phone ring or someone calling you from across the yard. I never realized how much I disliked the noise of a gas mower until I could mow without that sound.
If this can handle my yard and hills, it can handle yours, too.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by JahnnyD Hate running out of gas, changing oil, buying filters, tune-ups, etc.? Buy this!
Bought this based on 2 things;
1) The excellent reviews of this product.
2) Was tired of running out of gas, changing oil, annual tune-ups, troubleshooting why it wouldn't start, run, or shut off, having fouled spark-plugs, and realizing I was breathing all this carbon monoxide, etc. regarding "normal" mowers.
I've had this mower now for over a year, and I love it!
It's used 100% of the time on a 1/4 acre mixed grass (Bahia, St. Augustine, and weeds), in Florida. It runs about an hour and a half before needing to be charged, so I do the front yard, then throw the battery on the charger (takes less than 30 mins to fully charge), I trim, edge, & blow, & its ready to do the backyard.
Only complaints so far are the dual safety clips, but one call to EGO Customer Support, and they're being sent out (no charge).
