Product Overview

The ELIANE Melbourne 8 in. X 12 in. Sand ceramic wall tile is inspired by the bright, monochromatic palette of a desert landscape and offers a dynamic aesthetic enhancement that can add a splash of style to any decor. Light-colored hues reflect the flashes of the sun's rays over the sand, creating a subtle interplay of gray and gold shadows on this ceramic tile's glazed, smooth surface, and a non-vitreous water absorption rating makes it suitable for indoor applications only.

Answer:
Hello sk,
There is not a recommended color match. It is a personnel choice as to if you want it to be as close as possible to the tile color or lighter or darker to act as a highlight. I would suggest you take a piece of the tile to the store and look at actual samples to help choose the right color for your needs.

I have looked at other similar tiles with the same water absorption rate and they state that they definitely cannot be used on bath or shower walls.

Hello Doe, the water absorption will directly affect the way the tile absorbs moisture from the setting material and thus the bond that is established, it is also important for freeze-thaw conditions. Glazed wall tiles are considered non-vitreous because of the porosity of the body of the tile. However, once the tile is glazed, the surface of the tile receives a vitreous layer which makes the tile vitreous on its surface. For this reason we recommed it for shower wall. Water on the shower wall does not accumulate, and the vitreous layer is enough to protect the back of the tile from moisture. But,please bear in mind that grout joints are not waterproof. If you are doing a wet-area (such as a shower), rely on the method and substrate to protect adjoining areas from water. Read Less

Answer:
No, the suitable tile size for floor is 12 in. x 12 in. You can use the floor tile (12 in. x 12 in.) for wall, but the wall tile (8 in. x 12 in.) is only suitable for wall.

Answer:
Hi Deborah, you should seal this tile if using on counter top because you would not want the tile to absorb any liquid that can stain it.

Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 4 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good Value No issues as advertised, we used the Wall Tiles. Bullnose and Listello in the Baths looks great August 9, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Love my new shower Love the look of our new shower. Came out great! Used five accent pieces, they added just the right amount of contrast and they match the trim ( the line all the way around the shower stall.). We also had the ceiling tiled and that came out great too! July 15, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Elegant tile This is a simple, neutral, yet elegant pattern that enhances the brushed nickel shower fixtures we chose nicely. We really like it because it is not too dark, yet gives the room a nice color addition. The accent tiles go very nice with it too. August 17, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by beautiful, looks like VERY expensive tile - love the accent tiles, too I would buy this again if the need arises. I had 6 boxes of these tiles shipped to me and the packing was so good I could hardly get into the boxes. Needless to say, none were broken. January 31, 2012
