Does it have a lock and key?
Asked by: Jan
Thank you for posting your question. The EMCO 300 Series Self-Storing Storm Door comes with surface mount type of handleset. It does not come with a key lock and has no option to be replaced with a keyable handle set. The door's hardware has a dead bolt which can only be locked from the inside of the house. - Noel

32 in. x 78 in. 300 Series White Universal Triple-Track Aluminum Storm Door with Nickel Hardware is rated 3.7 out of 5 by 144.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Second door, same issues This is the second time I purchased this same door. Both times this door rotted from the inside out. The first time I tried a warranty claim, but was turned down because the labeling inside the door had come off. I bought the second door hoping the design had change. It didn't and it was the exact same door. I bought the second door 6 years ago and it's doing the same thing....rotting from the inside out. I decided not to even try a warranty claim (which isn't very good). I went with another door that was designed and built better from a different store. This door MIGHT be ok if it's not expose to the weather. However, what storm door isn't exposed to some type of weather. I would not recommend this door to anyone.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not bad...not great Our old door was nicer with the door jam built in. Not a fan of the hardware that was supplied. Feels to be on the cheaper side of things.

I noticed how detailed the instructions were, even to having multiple pictures and color coded packages of installation hardware. The finished door looks and functions beautifully. I only had one problem, there was some minor shipping damage- a few minor dents that didn't scratch the finish.Since it was pouring rain when the door was delivered I didn't take the door out of its package to thoroughly examine it. My wife didn't notice the dents on the door when installed till I pointed them out to her, so we are satisfied.

I have two OLD Emco doors in my house now and was considering another for a side garage entrance door. My 25 year old front storm door still looks and works well. The brass has tarnished a bit over the years, but it still looks and works fine. My rear garage storm door, also an Emco was installed about the same time. It is a hard plastic panel door that has survived Ohio winters very well. I just took it down to replace the rusted out steel service door the builder installed. Cleaned and repainted my Emco storm door, and re-installed it a few weeks ago. It still looks like new! After reading about this new junk they make, I have to look elsewhere. I don't need the headaches many people here are experiencing. Sorry Emco.

Up here at Lake Tahoe we just went thru the heaviest winter in over 15 years. When reopening the Cabin, I was very pleasantly surprised to find no damage to the storm doors, or the flooring inside. They survived over 8-10' of snow. Well there was one tiny dimple where there must have been a ton of roof snow hit it off the roof. But no functional damage. Now I'm preparing to buy on more for our West facing door. I am expecting many years of reliable service. Who's to say the dimple wasn't caused by a bear beating on it. We have some aggressive bears up here.
