It is a very good door for the price. We are using it on a porch and it is functional. I don't care for the black handle or pressure spring. The only other problem I that is slams shut.

I had 2 of these doors on a rental property for about 5 years. Anyone who has rental property knows that tenants are very unforgiving when it comes to using things that don't belong to them. These doors took a beating. I had to come and adjust them or tweak this and that more than once. That being said, you have to understand that these are probably the least expensive doors you will find on the market. Hence, they are probably the least quality doors you'll find. The bottoms will eventually drag and scrape and the hinges will show signs of rust and the window won't slide easily every time and the shape of the door will change with the weather and time causing unevenness during closing. But if you're looking for an inexpensive door that will do the job, stay solid and needn't provide significant security, this is the one for you. Have it properly installed, treat it gently and I guarantee you that this door will do the job for years to come. It's a decent value for the money.

If you need to throw up a storm door as a temporary fix then it's worth the $100.00. Other than that don't waste your money. After 3 years it started to de-laminate & warp. 1 more year later the laminate cracked so bad it was falling off & door wouldn't even close. It practically fell off the hinges. I also had to replace closure bar after a year. Piece of garbage.

Although, the person that I had install the door gave me the wrong measurements, it should have been a quick & easy instillation process. The door is simple & basic... Does the trick for what we need it for. The window slides up, which is the only thing we preferred to be different but I couldn't find that type of door in our price range besides this 1. We wanted the door to be 1/2-way, where the top window would drop down & the rest of the bottom 1/2 would be the door... Other than that, no real complaints. Like I said, it does the trick for us... Can't complain! If you don't need an elegant or security door, this is the door for you! :)

When we built our house, we bought two of these. I have now replaced them both under warranty. My garage exit door is on its third now. The wood core rots the aluminum cladding, warping the door and bubbling the aluminum outer skin. This second one went south in only 3 years. This time Emco wanted me to pay them $44 to provide a new complete door as opposed to furnishing only the door itself less hinge, hardware, etc. I told them I would not pay them that money. My warranty stated they would provide a new door complete. The lady left the phone and came back and said they would go ahead and provide a new complete door without charge, but no future warranty. Now I must again remove the door, take it to home depot and wait for the replacement. Hopefully, the new one will last two years in which we plan to move and leave the issue to the new owner.

Had this door on our home for 4 years. The bottom "kick panel" came off & our contractor examined the door to see if it could be repaired. He said that he was unable to reinstall the kick panel & that we needed to get a new door.
I filed a claim under the 10-year warranty which was denied. Anderson/Emco said the kick panel could be reinstalled & sent directions to do this. I told the Anderson/Emco representatives that our contractor was unable to reinstall the kick panel & said a new door was needed. I then asked to speak to a supervisor. I then explained the situation to Colleen, a Senior Technical Adviser, in the corporate office. She said this issue was not a manufacturing defect so would not be covered under the warranty.
Needless to say, I will not buy another Anderson/Emco door & will let others know of my dissatisfaction with the quality & warranty of these products.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Drumcarver Nice Storm Door, well made.
Bought 2 of these for my screened in porch. Took about 2 hours each to install. Not too difficult. They look nice and are solid in compared to standard aluminum. The closers work good also and are of higher quality than included with a lot of other screen doors I have installed in the past.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by David Horrible Door - Replacing after 3 years
We installed THREE of these horrible doors on a screen porch in spring of 2013. They were professionally installed by our contractor. After 2 years, they began to bulge and the metal sheathing began to burst on the inside along the bottom edge, around the glass, and around the door closer. All three doors did the same thing to varying degrees. As the core of the door began to swell, they then began to no longer close properly. I had to resort to using a rubber mallet on the edge of one to beat it down enough so I could close it to keep out the weather. We're totally disgusted. Now, we are shopping for new doors. These doors should have lasted our lifetime. Did not expect to be buying new ones a few years later. Avoid these doors. I will never buy EMCO again. Total waste of $300 + the cost for the original installation. Money flushed down the toilet. Total garbage. See my photos and buy at your own risk.
