Does this door have two sliding glass windows.

Can this door be cut. My door opening is 36x76 and the door would need to be cut to fit then add weatherstripping etc.

Asked by: Marilyn
I'm the one who asked the original question. I purchased the door, brought it home, my husband cut it to the required size and installed it. It looks and works beautifully for over a year now. I know I have voided the warranty by cutting it but a custom made door was not in our budget. My husband does have the necessary skill to do this.

36 in. x 80 in. 200 Series White Universal Traditional Aluminum Storm Door is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 158.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointed This door is a disappointment. Quality, dispite being from Anderson, is terrible. Rails are half an inch narrower than 10 year old door I am replacing leaving screw holes visible in the aluminum trim around the entire perimeter. Also, missing spacers necessary for installation. Called company on 4/10/17 and two day priority shipping has not arrived as of 4/18/17. Very disappointed!

After several years and getting exposed to weather the inside wood core expanded and the inside panel bulged out and cracked. I am replacing the two storm doors but after having this experience would not purchase this this door again. Added photos. This condition happened about 2 years after installation.

Purchased this door a month or so ago, for use to stop rain from coming in an exterior door on an attached single car garage. Background: Despite caulking (a lot) and new weatherstripping and a door seal, there was still a small amount of water which would come in when the rain would hit that door just right. We get major rain and wind a lot here in South Louisiana. I live in a suburb of New Orleans. I purchased the door at Home Deport and had the it installed by a professional contractor, and the door looks great, operates great, but last night and today we are dealing with Tropical Storm Cindy, and I took a look in the garage, and water had poured in, unfortunately wetting everything in its path. Even though this is a tropical storm, it has not been a major storm, like we've had many times in the past. Lot of on-an-off rain, lot of wind, but in my area, that's about it. Upon investigation of the storm door, I discovered that at the bottom of the storm door screen area, there is a little sill, and the rain hits the screen, hits the window behind it, and then simply pours under that window and comes pouring onto the threshold. It fills up the threshold and pours off the sides. The leak is now MUCH worse than before the storm door, because the only water which was coming in before was coming at the bottom of the exterior door, and sneaking in at the corners. There is also water leaking from the top of the storm door. I am able to re-create this scenario by simply spraying the door with a hose set on "shower". I have another door, Andersen 2500, which I can do the same thing to, and it does have some drops of water that leak in at the bottom corners of the windows, but it is such a small amount, it is able to drain away. When I say that the EMCO 200 has rain water "pouring in" I am not exaggerating. I don't even know how I will handle the rest of this storm except to keep wringing out towels and using the wet vac. I wish I could remove the storm door, which is what I might try. Truthfully, looking at the design of the screen and window, I can't see how it wouldn't leak. I am very disappointed. Very, very disappointed. Storm door. Storm. Now a big wet mess in my garage. :(

This door was installed at my residence by the prior owner about 6 years ago. It has looked and functioned great up until this Spring. It now has two bad areas of corrosion on the outside of the door and seems to be getting worse by the day. Luckily I am in good shape because it has a 10 year warranty right? NOPE! I just got off the phone with EMCO's warranty department who informed me the warranty is not transferrable. I will certainly be looking elsewere for it's replacement. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS OR ANOTHER ANDERSON PRODUCT. IT WILL EVENTUALLY FAIL!!!

Don't waste your money unless you are interested in a screened door that has a gap between the screen and the door. Also, Andersen/EMCO has horrible customer service. Spend more money if necessary but do not buy this brand's products. If you have insects outside of your home, these doors have a sizeable gap that will allow them into your home. The design is poor, and the customer service is pathetic.

It was definitely a good deal price-wise and we knew some assembly was required but didn't know that the holes for the hardware you had to attach was not pre-drilled. That caused for some extra delay for the guy installing the door but for someone who has the tools and is savvy using them, it probably wouldn't be a big deal. I just feel a simple add in the description would be very helpful. We installed this in a rental house and it's been on less than a month and our renter says it works great.

I did not anticipate the level of difficulty to install, I had to rip a few pieces of wood strips for the door opening to make it fit. Also, due to the door opening not being in the same plane, the door does not shut perfectly, rather has a 1/4 inch space at the top vs flush bottom. If I had to do all over again, i'd probably have tried to make that fit better. But all in all, it's a good door and light years ahead of the old, sticky door that it replaced...

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor Quality Door I purchased this exact door in May of 2010. It has a 10 yr. warranty. Two years had gone by and the door started to disintegrate from the inside of the door to the outside. Within a few months the disintegrated area was at least 5 x 10 inches rotted. And it started to rot in other areas. Apparently the door was not sealed properly. I did return the door to Home Depot, with the manufacturer's warranty slip, and got a replacement. Let's hope this one lasts longer. I had never seen a storm door rot from the inside to the outside ever. And this is a division of Anderson doors.
