Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by No support for product warranty I emailed and called Anderson (they now own Emco) and they refuse to support the warranty on this door. The EMCO FOREVER door warped and swelled to the point of damaging our door jam. Anderson wrote that the damaged door jam must have been due to wind damage which is not covered. Heat and direct sun cause the door to warp and swell. The lack of clearance due to the swelling caused the closer to crack the wood where it was attached. This is a STORM door, which by definition should withstand the elements. December 11, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Forever Door # 2 Twenty-five (25) yrs. ago we purchased two (2) Forever doors for front & back of house. Front door due to usage needed to be replaced after 23 yrs - although it was still in fair condition and doing its job. Having a 'history' I decided to replace with another 'forever' door and to my DISAPPOINTMENT - there have been nothing but issues from day one = 1)door expands w/hot weather & does not close 2) screen window came off hinge & does not stay up 3) glass window hinge broke on one I called their custoemr service team - located in the Phillippines - which infuriated me and they told me there is nothing they can do - screen is warranted for 90 days, door for 1 year.....I could have spent 1/2 the amount & purchased a 'regular' door & I can tell you I will NEVER buy this product again - clearly manufacturing has changed! Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by worst storm door on the market. After a year the door latch failed. It was 45 dollars to replace it. No aftermarket latch will work because the door contracts and expands so much with temperature change that you need one with extra long latch. I have now replaced it twice in five years. I purchased a metal storm door six months ago for less and it is a much better door and was less to purchase. Stay away from the composite Forever storm door or you will be sorry. April 3, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Junk Started corroding in less than a year. As it turns out its unfortunately the same type of door that was in place at the home I bought. That one had the same corrosion in the very same place. Too bad Home Depot continues to sell these doors. They are Junk! January 26, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Worst door ever had After using the window approx. a dozen times the frame came apart and the window went down inside the door. Went back to home depot, nothing the said they could do that I would Have to get ahold of Emco. -After appox.40 to 50 mins on the phone they said they were sorry but it would cost me 64.82 for the part. Well never buy another product from them. May 14, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Beware Beware! This door warps in the sun. The handle fell apart after 2 yrs. Good luck getting it replaced. April 9, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Quality an abomination - and effectively no waranty at all. We purchased three of these doors at home depot in 2010 and had them professionally installed. The hardware has failed on two of the doors, one of the doors is so badly warped that a mouse could crawl into the gap. On one of the doors the plastic hardware that holds the glass in place has broken, making it usable only with the screen. On the other, a door we almost never use, the glass is separating from the housing. Nothing is covered under waranty after a year. A very expensive door for one year of use. I'm going to take these down and buy the old school wood ones. I really thought for $269 per door which is what I paid I'd get a decent door. Avoid these doors like the plague. May 14, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by heavy but flimsy The wheight of the door will fool you thinking you are getting a good solid door, but it is poorly constructed this door bows and shows a gap where the window and screen slide down into the door. 1/2" plastic stripping that covers the screws was bent and useless had to call for replacement stripping and may take up to 10 days. If you move the door back and forth it shows how flimsy it really is. If my wife had of read these reviews she probably wouldn't have wanted this door. I know that I wouldn't have but didn't see these reviews untile it was too late, guys do yourselves a favour read reviews before purchasing. I will probably end up returnning and taking a loss (restocking fee) due to poor quality. By the way we got the door with black and white hardware and paid the same price. Highly disappointed in this product Thanks for reading, B August 6, 2012
