The description says the screen is retractable, but I can't make it move. The lower window glass is dirty. I vacuumed the screen; however, there is a lot of debris still trapped.

Is it possible to get a double or triple flap doggie door installed, instead of the single flap, for better weather insulation?
Also, we are a family with 2 chihuahuas and one Austrailian shepherd. Can the doggie door be installed a little lower to accommodate the little ones?

Answer:
My pet door is still in great shape so I haven't had to replace it yet but I do have the same insert in a sliding glass door and it is a standard size that I saw down at my local Home Depot. They just unscrew at the frame. You can also replace just the insert. I have a Jack Russell Terrier that feels it is her duty to chase all cats out of our back yard so she runs through it at top speed quite often.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Looks great, works great! We paid for install so can't really speak to the ease, but he did have to add an additional border of some kind to make it fit properly (and at additional cost). That aside, the door itself is very well-made. Has the best dog door I've seen. The 3 separate sections of the flap work much better than one long piece, and they're made of a plexiglass-type material so they're sturdy, stay clear (instead of getting cloudy like regular soft plastic), and very easy to clean. Seals very well so there's no loss of A/C. The screen window is great when you want to let air flow. Absolutely recommended for pet owners! August 3, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by AWESOME door! My pets love it!!! This door fits very well, took very little time to install and is a great value for the money spent. Other companies wanted upward of $600 for a door that appeared to be the same model. This is my second door at a second location from Home Depot and April 19, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Straightforward installation This installation was fairly easy as long as you check for proper measurements and clearances which are listed in the manual. I had to cut off the door for a shorter entrance way, but that was no problem. I just had to cut the door and the frame pieces and drill new holes to attach them. The latch fit well and closes properly. The dog door is heavy and the weatherstrips are tight so it doesn't swing very freely. My dogs have been slow to get used to pushing on it. Otherwise this door suits my needs well. July 5, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by good door for the price good door but the locking mechanism is hard to.push up and down. hopefully it will loosen up with time. July 12, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Beware - Wears out fast I've had to replace the dog door flap 4 times now... about every 12-15 months. Always just outside of the warranty. I have to call Andersen Emco to do it. It's easy to replace, but a hassle to call Andersen and get the part. They've now wised up and raised the cost of the flap replacement to 120$ - half the cost of the entire door! The flap is made of three pieces, connected by rubber - that's what gives it flexibility. The rubber wears out and eventually separates. There is no fix other than order new flap. June 11, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by storm door with pet door The door was what I expected, everything about it is fine. The real measure is how will it weather, I won't know for a while June 24, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Love the new door. The dogs love the new door, now I don't have to let them in and out. And the door looks nice. June 7, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Worked well for a few years, but vinyl sheathing separated Had the door for a few years since it was one of only a few with doggie doors readily available at the store. I wanted a brown or antique bronze finish but only found white or unfinished wood. Since the wood would not hold up to the weather, went with this one. Worked well for awhile although had to replace the door hydraulic arm a few times. Now the vinyl skin is separating. Thought I could peel/break it off and just paint the wood underneath but it's particle board so it won't holdup to the weather. When I started to peel it off I found the entire bottom of the particle board is soaked. The doggie door part of it has always worked well. February 27, 2016
