I need to install a balcony rail in a children's area of the library. Because it is in the children's area, I need the pickets to be no more than 2 3/8" apart. Is that possible with this setup? Can I just buy extra pickets and drill more holes? How can I get the gate to meet the same specs? I need 42" but only 2 3/8" between pickets.
Asked by: Jackie
Hi Jackie. Yes, it is very common to assemble our railing with tighter picket spacing. And yes, you simply drill more holes and purchase extra pickets. Give us a call/email and we will put this order together for you including the gate and run it through your local Home Depot Pro Desk. 573.365.7084 or support@ezhandrail.com. Thank you for your consideration, Dan H. (EZ Handrail Dev. Team)

What kind of finish does these railings have and how does it hold up to enviroments in close proximity to the sea.
Asked by: Leader
All EZ Handrail products and accessories have a powder coat finish. Being originally based in Pompano Beach, FL our railings have been installed in saltwater environments for decades, however we do not warranty the finish on coastal installs. You can expect AAMA 2604 performance from our finishes in S. Florida environments. I am very comfortable installing our railings on the beach. Thank you for your consideration and great question. What is the maximum spacing of support posts?

The engineered drawings specify a maximum spacing for support posts of 75"; however, these prefabricated rail assemblies are sold in 8' lengths. Please explain this discrepancy.
Asked by: muncher
Great question. For 1" sq (aluminum) baluster railing, 6' or 8' sections meet all IBC codes (load requirements). However, we recommend 72" sections per our engineered drawings (75" O.C. Max between posts). For glass panel and glass baluster railing, 8' sections are permissible at grade level only. To further discuss your project and site specific engineered drawings, please contact me directly at 573.365.7085 or dan@maddenmetals.com. Thank you for your consideration, Dan H (EZ Handrail Dev.
