Questions & Answers

How many feet will a gallon cover using two coats

Asked by: AD
It varies greatly depending on the porosity of the surface. On a smooth-trowelled garage floor in good condition, a gallon was plenty for 300 sq ft. On a porous carport with some chloride damage, 100 sq. ft./gallon has worked well (rainwater puddles on the surface, and concrete remains dry), but it seems like it would have absorbed as much as I was willing to apply.

Will this product help to reduce the amount of dust from my concrete garage floor?

The floor is ten years old. I sealed it when I installed it but now it is starting to create a lot of dust.
Asked by: Tom
It does not, in my experience. This product soaks into the pores, and completely disappears from the surface, once it is dry. A surface coating would be a better choice to reduce dust - - but make sure to clean and vacuum it thoroughly first.

The lower outside section of my house has drawn on brick, is product good to in this application? If so will it darken drawn on brick after it dries?
Asked by: john
By drawn-on brick, I assume you mean an above-ground concrete surface, with red color mixed into the concrete, and shaped to look like brick, but not coated or painted. I have not seen this product used on that kind of surface. But on a grey concrete slab carport (which I have) it disappears to the point it is entirely impossible to tell which parts are treated and which not (except that water puddles on the treated part and soaks in everywhere else). I think you are fine -- again, assuming the surface is uncoated -- but I would certainly try a test patch in an inconspicuous area before going all out.

I used a different sealant on my concrete basement floors and it is peeling off. I was told to try this brand. Do I need to somehow remove the previous sealant before applying this? or can i just roll it over the current peeling sealant? Any thoughts are much appreciated!
Asked by: spurloo
You need to remove 100% of the old sealant, not only what's peeling, but also anything that is still bonded to the concrete. This product is made to soak into the pores of the concrete, and disappear. To the extent the old sealant is still present, the new sealant will simply puddle on top and be wasted.

After power washing, I applied Eagle Natural Seal (3 weeks ago) using a pump up sprayer and roller as shown in the video. It was quick and easy to apply. There was no change to the color or appearance of the concrete. Now rain water beads up on the concrete. My goal is to protect the concrete from the salt residue in slush dripping off our vehicles this winter. It looks like its going to work.

Easy to apply on clean, dry stone or concrete. Water beads up but the surface does not become slippery. Besides prevention of freeze damage I'm hoping this will slow moss growth. One gallon in a garden sprayer was exactly enough to cover my needs including 140' of slate tile patio, and 120' of exposed aggregate sidewalk/stairs. Seems to work well on natural stone.

Covered entire chimney, and I still have enough left over to spray it again next year: half gallon. Threw a cup of water on it and it splashed off leaving only beads of water on chimney. I applied product in the last month.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works as advertised Just applied 2 weeks ago. I applied it with a roller to concrete. It was easy to apply, did not change appearance of the concrete and beads water just as I expected. Now I will be interested in how long it lasts, I expect to reapply in 2 years to keep its water barrier.

Water beads up. New concrete garage floor with smooth finish didn't need volume per sq. ft. but the broom finished entry ramps did.
