Answer:
For both the interior and exterior Eagle dyes, the floor should be neutralized before dyeing. For interior floor, let the dye dry for a minimum of 4 hours and then apply Armor Seal and follow with Eagle polish.

I live in Fairbanks, AK. Temperatures range from 90 F (summer) to -50 (winter). The walk I would like to treat is outside under overhanging roof. I am concerned about slippery product in winter when snow drifts on top. Whether the product is effected be extreme cold. If the product does make it slippery, how does the acid stain effect the concrete if it is not sealed afterward?

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.2 out of 5 by 13 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good Sealer for Acid-Stained Concrete This sealer was easy to apply with sprayer and provided a low-sheen, durable finish that helped improve and darken the acid-stain color. June 7, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Armor seal water based This product worked as expected. For some reason they did not sell the non-water based version which has a more glossy finish. The finish with this was like a damp finish, slightly glossy. I also got the polish which will improve the gloss. It really all boils down to the finish of the concrete. The smoother the concrete the more glossy it will be. May 3, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Thin coats required Easy to apply, sprayed on the sealer and back rolled with a 1/2" nap roller keeping each coat VERY thin. If you apply this sealer thick in any areas it will haze. This is a property of all acrylic sealers. The finish is more satin than gloss. I chose not to apply a second coat since there were some areas that were thicker than others and I did not want to chance fracturing or haze in the top coat. Excellent product. Will use again when I seal my sidewalk/driveway. Can't speak yet to the durability since it was just recently applied. July 21, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Leaves Milky Look Product dried leaving a milky look on outside patio after acid staining. Stain came out great but this product ruined it. June 14, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Eagle Armor Seal Eagle Armor Seal worked excellent on my newly acid stained concrete. I was in a quandary whether to buy a mineral based high gloss product or this water based matt finish product. The mineral based sealer will look like the concrete does when it is wet (darker more vivid) and the water based sealer will look like the concrete does when it is damp (more muted but nice). The product went on well with no roller marks when it was dry. It was glossier than I expected. Very pleased overall but only down 1 month- long term I do not know. August 15, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Was not close to a semi-gloss look Stained concrete with Eagle rust acid stain and manufacturer recommended this gloss for indoor concrete. Once it dried it barely made any difference in the sheen, not even close to a semi-gloss look. I had to put another vendors' gloss on top to get a better look. I know this was not their high gloss coat but it should not be advertised as a Semi-Gloss. If you want the wet look for your stained floor use a Solvent based ( not water based) high gloss coat. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Product! This Eagle Armor Seal Urethane is great, It is water based and easy to apply, as well as dries quickly, I used it with Eagle water based stain dye to stain and finish my concrete floors, The job came out great, As other users advise, you need to tape up and cover all the areas around which you will be applying the sealer, Highly recommend this product August 6, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Satisfied so far Used this to seal an acid stained exterior hot tub pad. Seems to be holding up good. The Home Depot wants a review so the only thing I can say is that the product has been as advertised so far. My mind might be changed after the rest of this hot summer and a brutal Kansas winter.
