Customer Reviews

1 gal. Malt Brown Interior Concrete Dye Stain Makes with Water from 8 oz. Concentrate is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing results! Easy DIY After LOTS and LOTS of research, we decided to use the Eagle concrete stain and corresponding items: Etch & Clean, Sealer and Polish. It was a great price for the square footage we were completing and it was our basement; therefore, a reasonable location for the material. To begin, I can't emphasize enough to clean!! We mud & taped our walls prior to beginning the staining process and without proper coverage on the ground. This lead to lots of scrubbing and days of mopping. Vinegar and dish soap seemed to help the most. Once the area was cleaned and taped off, I moistened the concrete with water from a (bug sprayer) gallon pump (worked amazing for the job and only ~$16), then sprayed on the diluted spray (according to label) in a circular pattern. After a few hours of dry time, I came back down and went over a few spots to ensure evenness. After the stain COMPLETELY dried (which took a little longer in some areas I accidentally sprayed too much), I sprayed on the sealer. I read that two thin coats where better than one so that's what we did. The first coat was more "medium" though. Finally, after the sealer was COMPLETELY dried, I put on the polish! What a difference that made! Not only in appearance but texture too! I used a ~$10 microfiber brush from Walmart and it worked perfectly! When all was complete, we waited the night (about 6-8 hours) before we moved furniture in. We couldn't be more pleased with the results! **Side note - we choose Malt Brown over Cola because my crazy eyes picked up a slight green in Cola but more cream in MB. Just FYI :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful When we first put this on the color was like grey, purple, green -- really weird and not at all brown. After trying to contact Eagle Company and they never did get back to me, I called Home Depot. They said it was supposed to go on like that and just go on to the next step. We put Warm Honey on top of this Malt Brown -- very pretty! We love it. The dark color is hard to keep clean I guess, just because it shows all the dirt. But the floor is just gorgeous. We used this in our mudroom- wish would have known about it when we were doing our entire basement. I would have used this product!! The etching was kinda scary, but worked out great!
