The Home Depot web site for one gallon of this product (Model # EPS1) shows that one gallon will cover 200 square feet. The Home Depot web site and the two answers shown above are not consistent with each other. http://www.homedepot.com/p/Eagle-1-gal-Clear-Wet-Look-Solvent-Based-Acrylic-Concrete-Paver-Sealer-EPS1/203530969?MERCH=RV-_-rv_gm_pip_rr-_-203530977-_-203530969-_-N

What would be the slip coefficient generally around a pool area? Can we add a SharkGrip type product to it?
Asked by: RussRamey6
I have no experience with the SharkGrip additive. I can only tell you that I applied two thick coats of the Eagle solvent based sealer and if the pavers are very wet, I do think there is a possibility of someone slipping. I think this will pass as foot traffic wears on the sealer and the sun begins to break it down.

I did my homework checking out different brands and prices, the reviews were very good so I went with it. It looks beautiful, I just had my pool people come back for some punchlist items and they all raved about how good it looks. I would definitely put a sand product in the top or 2nd coat as it gets slick when wet. My granddaughter slipped and fell so it looks like I will be putting a 3rd coat on with a sand texture. Entirely my fault, I should have listened to the reviews and trusted them.

My recommendation is first buy 1 five gallon bucket to see what your coverage is. Then order the rest based on that. I bought 11 buckets of this to seal my paver driveway. The driveway is about 5000 sq ft. It was part of a large summer project to first kill all the weeds, pull and/or burn remaining weeds, kill moss, resand, and finally seal. The pavers were very porous and required 3 coats. The pavers had never been sealed by the previous owners. If I had to do it over, I would apply the product more liberally rather than trying to stretch it as I think 2 coats would work that way. I recommend using the large 18" roller to make the job go faster. It can't be sprayed through a pump sprayer as it's too thick. I tried. I also recommend a mask designed for VOCs as it has a strong solvent smell. Preferably one with cartridges on the side. Also rubber boots that you are willing to throw out as it will spray on your boots and destroy them. Also long pants and solvent proof gloves. Close your windows when applying as the vapors will creep into your house and don’t store wet rollers or trays indoors for the same reason. It will stink up your whole house. If you have neighbors close by tell them to close their windows also. It’s best to apply this product with the wet product and vapors downwind of yourself. Pavers look dark and wet and I'm very happy with the results. It was an expensive job but I feel it's worth it and hope the product lasts.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product I have used this product before and this is top of the line. Other brands are priced almost twice as much and don't come close. It doesn't leave white marks, it applies on smoothly and it dries evenly. Oh yeah, and I live in Miami where the humidity is high and I still didn't have moisture get caught between the pavers.

Awesome product, I was looking for a wet look sealer for my pool deck pavers. My pavers were put in 2 phases, 5 years apart, and never matched color. This sealer darkened the pavers and made them match. I used a 9" roller to apply and 2 coat. It was very tedious trying to get the sealer in between the pavers so the sand filler was covered. I had about 1300sq ft and the job took around 8 hours to apply 2 coats, with the 1st coat taking about 6 hrs. Here are my lessons learned.... Make sure to pressure spray clean 24 hours before application so you dont have to worry about the pavers drying. Clean, clean, clean before you seal, I pressure washed the deck 2 times before sealing.; Use the largest size roller you can buy, dont be cheap like me; Make sure you dont leave any puddles on 2nd coat, you get tired and lazy after a good days work; Find a tool that helps to apply the sealer in between the pavers; Wear PPE, Gloves, safety glasses and Wear a ventilation mask, I didn't and felt sick for 2 days; 2 coats brings out the wet look, take the time to do it;

It's given the pavers a very nice look and appears to seal quite well based on water beading after it rained. I only did one coat and 'touched up' a few areas with a second coat. I used 5 gallons on the first coat with about a quart or so left over. I think a second coat would have only required about 2 gallons (if that) based on the areas I touched up. I special ordered this from Home Depot and was quite please with the free shipping and how quickly it arrived. I've also used a different Eagle sealer on my concrete driveway and would recommend that as well.

This is the second time I have used this product to seal the pavers around my pool and on the front porch. Items to note... It is very important to use quality sand either well tamped joint sand or using polymeric sand. Use a high quality roller. The first time I used cheap rollers and generic sand... mistake. I applied two coats and found that the product easily goes farther than the 500 sqft listed.
