Customer Questions & Answers

How long do you wait before putting on 2nd coat

Asked by: Ronnie
The instructions on the container state: "Coats should be applied to saturation, but not allowed to dry on the surface." Obviously, the amount of time for a coat to dry will be dependent upon weather conditions. For 70-80 deg F applications on sunny days in early summer, I start the second coat immediately upon finishing the first coat on my driveway and turnaround area, each coat taking between 2 to 3 hours to apply.

Do you think it would work on Leakey Foundation walls

Asked by: James
This product is to seal porous surfaces like concrete and pavers from rain, etc. It is not a waterproofing agent to prevent leaks in foundations. There are other products for that. If you want a permanent cure for foundation leaks, it's best to get a professional.

According to the manufacture's web site, Eagle seal is not recommended on tile, slate or stone surfaces... http://eaglesealer.s3.amazonaws.com/42/doc-application-guide.pdf

Can this product be used to seal exposed brick interior wall?

Asked by: DIYer
I have not tried this, but I know of no reason why it cannot "seal" the brick surface pores from dirt and liquids accidentally spilled on the inside of the wall. However, this product will not "waterproof" the interior brick wall from outside water intrusion, nor will it fill in wall cracks as it has the consistency of water. You'll also have to apply it slowly (e.g., sponge it on) to avoid runoff onto the floor.

5 gal. Natural Seal Penetrating Clear Water-Based Concrete and Masonry Water Repellant Sealer and Salt Repellant is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 267.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Definitely repels!! I would definitely recommend this product. I had it applied to our 10 year old driveway. It hasn't been sealed since we built the house. It did of coarse take more than one coat. Its recommended that 2 coats be applied. I actually had them put 3 coats on it to make sure the driveway was waterproof. Before application the water just soaked into the concrete. Now it runs off in beads. It's actually pretty neat. Driveway stays dry when it rains. That's all I can ask for. One 5 gallon bucket covers 1000sq ft. My driveway was 800 sq ft. I bought 10 gallons. I have 2.5 gallons left. So this products coverage is what the manufacturer claims.

I followed the directions very carefully with the acid stain in and the result was nothing alike in the photographs. It stained my concrete the color of tea. Are used to coats of sealer. Water beaded up on it initially but several days later rain soaked in easily.

Works great, I put 10 gallons on my newly poured concrete garage floor(24x48) . I applied it with a roller and long handle. With my first coat I had about a third of a bucket left. I let it set over night and put the second coat on the next day. excellent coverage, I let the whole thing set up for a couple of days before I moved cars in. Water beads on this stuff, its like car wax for concrete!!!! I'm very happy with the results and a good price too!!! You came through for me again Home Depot.

I don't leave reviews like I should but the Eagle Natural Seal compels me to. I'm not easy to please but this stuff is AWESOME! Does exactly what it claims and didn't change the appearance of my concrete driveway. I applied with a pump sprayer and smoothed with a roller (though the roller was really unnecessary in my case). Went on easily and dried quickly. The first rain approx. 3 days after application beaded up and ran off like a freshly-waxed car. The 5-gal size was just the right amount and I have a good-sized driveway. Time will tell when I'll need to re-seal but I know this will keep my concrete clean and in good shape for a year or more. Very good value for the amount you get and the benefits provided. Less expensive than other sealers and I can't imagine anything being better than this brand. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

The 5 gallon pail arrives tightly sealed with an easy-open pouring hole on the top. The product is very liquid -- it pours easily. I used a roller for applying the sealant to the floor. The area where the product is applied looks "wet" so it is easy to see where you have coverage. After the floor dried I did the water drop test. The water drops beaded up indicating a good seal. I used slightly less than the expected amount and consumed two rollers.

It doesn't change the appearance of the concrete at all, and water beads right up. I used a roller and the first coat went on easy since you could tell where you left off. The second coat was harder because it would bead and never sure where I was giving it a second coat. Just something to note. Maybe a sprayer would have been better. If water is still beading in two years I'd give it an excellent rating.

After cleaning patio and letting dry started rolling on sealer. Slow and hard work, went on unevenly, switched to pump sprayer, that's the way to go. So happy with results ordered 2 more 5 gallon buckets to do rest of concrete around house. This product doesn't change the look of your concrete it only seals it and keeps water from penetrating and soaking in.
