Customer Questions & Answers

Do you think it would work on Leakey Foundation walls

Asked by: James
This product is to seal porous surfaces like concrete and pavers from rain, etc. It is not a waterproofing agent to prevent leaks in foundations. There are other products for that. If you want a permanent cure for foundation leaks, it's best to get a professional.

How long do you wait before putting on 2nd coat

Asked by: Ronnie
As soon as the first coat dries. That depends on the temperature and the humidity level.

Can this product be used to seal exposed brick interior wall?

Asked by: DIYer
I have not tried this, but I know of no reason why it cannot "seal" the brick surface pores from dirt and liquids accidentally spilled on the inside of the wall. However, this product will not "waterproof" the interior brick wall from outside water intrusion, nor will it fill in wall cracks as it has the consistency of water. You'll also have to apply it slowly (e.g., sponge it on) to avoid runoff onto the floor.

5 gal. Natural Seal Penetrating Clear Water-Based Concrete and Masonry Water Repellant Sealer and Salt Repellant is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 238.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works Great I applied one coat of the concrete sealer using a 2 gallon tank sprayer. The concrete was poured 2 years ago and had a sealer applied by the contractor at that time. It was recommended that I re-apply a sealer every year or two to keep my concrete in good condition.. I have almost two thousand square feet of concrete and the 2, five gallon buckets I ordered was just enough to complete the project; so the coverage estimate was spot on. It was easy to apply and did not change the appearance of the concrete; just what I wanted, I did not want a high gloss look. Water beads up on the surface and this will hopefully reduce the chance of cracking from water getting into small cracks and freezing this winter. Clean up was easy since this is a water based product. I am completely happy with the ease of application and the appearance, time will tell if it provides the protection I am looking for. I plan to re-apply the sealer again either next year or the year after to protect my investment.

I researched many products and finally purchased this, mostly due to its fair price and great reviews. My last driveway had spalling all over the surface and looked awful. I didn't want that to happen again. My neighbor used a diff brand that rhymes with halspar. His driveway doesn't bead up water like mine. But it may be because he didn't apply it like I did. Here's how to apply this so that it looks like mine. Spray it on evenly with care, one section at a time. Spray the first section evenly then move to the next section and spray that. Look back at the previous section and again spray the spots that are already drying. Then use a paint roller on a long stick and roller over the surface to further ensure you get an even coating. Continue this process until you're all done. It dries quickly so be sure to do small sections at a time. Like 5x5 or however your driveway joints are cut. I purchased two 5-gal buckets and I only used 7.5 gallons total. I did approx 2100 square feet with 7.5 gallons. So 280 sqft per gallon. Surface is NOT slick from the sealer as you'd think it might be.

I calculated approximately 4300 sq ft (long driveway) and according to the directions, I purchased 4 - 5 gallon buckets. I anticipated needing another few gallons to finish the job. However, I ended up with about 3 gallons remaining, with which I applied a 2nd coat over the roughest parts of the driveway. I know it said to apply a 2nd coat within a few hours, but I did it over 24 hours later. There was no issue will pooling, milky appearance, staining, etc. I feel like I should have applied a thicker 1st coat everywhere. But I was afraid of the product pooling and make different different shades. But I experienced none of that. Now water pools on the surface of the driveway and will not soak in, even a day later. It eventual evaporates. Time will tell if it keeps the dirt and mildew away.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Product I like this much better than the solvent based sealer. Sprays on with hand sprayer and after a month of hot Florida sunshine and plenty of rain, water still beads like the day it was applied. Does not darken the pavers like the solvent based does. I tried a gallon of the Eagle solvent based sealer first on a small area. Solvent based gives off a strong odor for about 3-5 days and the water based has very little odor. Two problems with the solvent based sealers in Florida - 1st the directions say the pavers have to be completely dry or the edges can turn white and flake -(completely dry not going to happen in south Florida). 2nd the solvent based has to be rolled on and this picks up a lot of the sand between the pavers and gives a gritty surface. Not an issue with the spray on. Not sure why this product isn't stocked at Home Depot. Had to order it online, but came in in about 3 days. Also clean up is with soap and water, not lacquer thinner.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Driveway sealer Got 2 5 gallon pails. One worked great while the second provided very little protection. I could see the difference after it rained as I did one side at a time. Home Depot wouldn't help me. I didn't want to go through the manufacturer as I dealt with Home Depot. Disappointed!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Staff that helps me 'do it right' A very good product. The 5 gallon container was a bargain. At the same time it was difficult working it into workable portions that could be carried up a ladder for instance. This sealer is 'forgiving' should you splash it onto a neighboring area. I dries colorless !

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good so far I've only had the product on new concrete for about a month now. Looks like it doesn't have anything on it at all, until it gets wet. Then it beads right off. I mean water doesn't soak in at all. Time will tell as far as durability, but good so far. As advertised

I used it on the bricks of my house which is 60 years old and some of the face of the bricks are starting to fail. Used it to slow down the degradation. The water appears to bead up and run off the face of the brick without altering the look of the brick.
