1500-Watt Heat Gun is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 59.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better than a hair dryer ;-) This heat gun works really well. There are two temperature settings: low = 660 degrees, high = 1110 degrees. The 4 nozzles included will be very useful for particular projects and include a concentrator, a hook nozzle for pipes, a deflector nozzle, and a glass protection nozzle. The other 5 accessories are stand-alone and used for scraping. The instructions are thorough enough to even give me ideas for additional uses (such as bending plastic) besides the standard scraping and removing uses. The carrier is nice in that it secures each item in its place. The gun heats instantly and is lightweight, reducing fatigue. Overall a nice set, especially for the DIYer with only occasional need for a heat gun.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good quality heat gun Could not go wrong for the price. It has many attachments that make this a very verital tool. I used it to strip old paint off of ornate trim work. It made fast work of heating up the paint so it could be removed quickly without the use of harsh chemicals.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I really like the attatchments. Best product of it's kind that I have owned. The attachments are very handy and work on a variety of shapes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Heats Quickly, Easy to Use, All-in-One This is a very nice, complete heat gun set. The variety of tips allows you to select the right application of heat for the job. They also provide you a good assortment of scrapers to get into every nook and cranny; especially those associated with wood moulding. I used this on a strip of door casing. The piece has about five layers of paint. The heat gun quickly heated up the paint all the way down to the surface and allowed a quick removal of all layers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hot hot hot Used this when repairing my tub and very happy with the product. Getting it at deal of the day price was my motivation for purchasing and if they run it again I'll get one for my son.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Impressive Heat Gun I was looking for a heat gun for a DIY project to replace some damaged vinyl tiles and for paint stripping. The gun by Earlex seemed like a good choice as it's powerful with 1,500 watts and comes with all the attachments. The unit is well made, light weight and is more compact than it looks in the photo on the web page. I just tried it out on some cracked floor tiles. I applied low heat moving the gun slowly back and forth in small areas and slipping the scrapper underneath to peel up each tile. I was pretty hesitant at first, thinking the heat would do some damage, but the heat on low was well controlled and in some instances got the whole tile up in one piece. A trick is to get the scrapper hot along with the tile. Later on used the heat gun on the surrounding painted baseboards and the paint bubbled up on the high setting as I scraped it off with the tools provided. You definitely need to do this project with leather gloves as the work and gun get really hot. A steady hand helps direct the heat along with patience scrapping the old paint. A really nice design feature is the flat end of the gun which acts as an upright stand when you have to put it down to shift things. Other guns I've used have over heated or not heated up enough to do the job. Didn't have that problem this time, 1,500 watts makes the difference.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great heat-gun kit with tools and case Heat!! I do a lot of heat-shrink splices. My house has layers of old paint. The new siding (not from H-D!) has a lot of knots that won't stop oozing sap. The Earlex 1500 Watt Heat Gun does what I need. The heat-spreader and lower heat setting shrinks heat-shrink nicely without burning the wires. The focused high heat works amazing-well for cooking sap out of knots so the next coat of paint, stain, or varnish will stay on. High heat with the spreader softens old paint. Well-constructed. Didn't break after a few drops. Runs steady without cut-out or hot handle. Noisy, but no more than it has to be to deliver this much heat. You can buy just a heat-gun for less, and that may be what you need. But this model comes with a good carry-case and a comprehensive selection of scrapers, focusers, and spreaders. The scrapers cover a wide variety of flats and curves and grooves. They are simple punched shapes: fine for most work. Really tough or precision work, you should sharpen these edges or go to more specialized architectural scrapers with keen edges. But still good to have all the common shapes handy and stored together. Photos: Cooking a sap-knot in livingroom panelling. The outdoor siding needs it worse, but too cold and dark today to use the camera out there. Dog-- My dog is a trained camera-hound and stunt-dog. He insisted on posing with the carrying case and scrapers. The heat-gun was UN-plugged for this photo.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Holster your hairdryer! There's a new tool in town! This was my first experience scraping paint using a heat gun. I like NOT using and breathing harsh chemical strippers. The Earlex 1500 watt heat gun is lightweight and comfortable in my hand; seems to be sturdy; is much quieter than a hair dryer; and puts out significantly more heat. According to instructions, low temp is 660 degrees, high temp is 1110 degrees...I'll trust that. Use utmost care...it's plenty hot! The accompanying hand-held scraper has several interchangeable heads - helped a lot getting into the corners and crevices. There is a good selection of nozzles included for directing the heat. I especially like the one that protects glass and the hook shape that will be a great way to heat evenly around a frozen metal pipe. Attachments and scrapers are conveniently stored in the handy and sturdy case provided- no rummaging through toolboxes to start a job. The cord is only about 7 feet long, so you'll need a good quality extension cord (15 amps).
