CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 5.0 out of 5 by 2 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good quality, accurate viscosity cup....but you may not need it... At ten seconds before the full minute, dip this cup into the paint. When the second hand gets to 12:00, lift the cup and watch the stream of paint as it drizzles back into the can. The cup is considered drained when the stream of paint "breaks", that is, when it is no longer continuous. As soon as the break occurs, note the number of seconds it took to drain the cup, and there is your viscosity measurement. Compare that to the viscosity requirement for your gun/nozzle combination and there you go. After a dozen or so times, you probably will have a good feel for the viscosity that works best in your gun and you won't bother, but if you change needle/tip combinations, it's probably a good idea to check every once in a while. This is a good quality, accurate cup. Unfortunately, it turns out I don't actually need it. I ordered this along with an Earlex 5500 HVLP sprayer because the specifications of the sprayer did NOT mention that a viscosity cup was already included with the sprayer. This is a perfectly good viscosity cup, but if I had known that an identical cup ships with the Earlex 5500 sprayer, I would not have ordered this one. Oh well, it's probably good to have a spare on hand. July 23, 2013
