Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Matt Awesome Rain Barrel!
I set this rain barrel up the day before a storm and I was thoroughly impressed! After just one rain storm in Lansing, MI, this barrel filled to the diverter level as designed. I couldn't be more pleased with it. I set it up on two cinder blocks which set on pavers. The installation instructions were really easy to follow and included everything necessary. The spout is made of cheaper plastic, but no leaks so far. I have a full length hose with sprayer attached, but there's just not enough water pressure to be useful. Will need a shorter hose for it to be effective. Overall, very impressed. I bought it on a Daily Deal day. Otherwise, I think I'd pass as it was still expensive in my opinion, but will get a lot of great use as my garden is going in right next to it.

Great product! Easy to unpack and put to use. Comes with the tools needed for drilling the holes for set up and very simple and easy to understand instructions.
The only thing I wish was a little different was that the rain barrel top was a little deeper so that when it is inverted you can put in plants that require more depth for their root system.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by JJay Complete rainbarrel system
This package has all the parts and tools (except a screwdriver) you need to make it work, and the first rainfall filled it with no leaks. The directions were easy to follow and complete. I had to cut a hole in my wood fence, but by measuring carefully and checking with a level, I made it work. The downspout diverter is an outstanding design because you don't have to cut with a hacksaw, and it removes for the winter, the hole covered with a supplied part.
There are a few things to use extra care on. After drilling thru the barrel as directed, take time to remove the burr left by the drill and smooth the edges a little. Perhaps this is why some of the commenters had trouble with leaks. Make everything perfectly level and recheck as you go along. Be aware that the tube connecting the downspout to the barrel is not that long, so the barrel needs to be fairly close.
And the bonus is the large planter lid, what a way to brighten up the whole project!

It was easy to install and is full of water but the spigot stopped working after the first 2 weeks. It does look flimsy. The planter top is a nice feature but does not quite fit - too big. I will be contacting the company for replacement parts.

I was looking for a replacement for a garbage can to hold rainwater and this is a really nice looking barrel with a solid lid. It was raining on the day we set this up and it went together really well. I inadvertently had the spigot in the open position so it only filled to that point. I did not plant flowers in the lid as I want to be able to fill my watering cans from the top if I need to.

Pretty easy to install. It even came with the attachments for your drill to make the holes in the gutter spout. Finally had our first day of rain since I installed the rain barrel. It's leaking from the spigot and where the hose would attach. It's pretty cheaply made when it comes to those attachments. I will have to figure out how to make a better seal.
The other weird part is that the spigot handle doesn't leave any room for your hand to turn it fully. The handle touches the barrel.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by wingnut attractive and functional
Attractive pot, I live in Arizona and have yet to really use the barrel. I put succulents in the lid and hope this monsoon season to use the rainwater to water the vines on my block walls. This kit came with everything you need, including the drill bits needed to cut the holes in the barrel and the downspout. Its not really complicated but-My reason for the good rating was that the instructions were not the clearest they could have been. If not for some confusion and drilling the wrong hole size in the water barrel (there are two hole cutters- the smaller one is for drilling the hole into the barrel for the hose attachment, the larger is for cutting hole in downspout for the diverter) I would have overall rated this as excellent.
