Yes it does, although I have never used it, so I can't speak to how well it works. I purposely want to broadcast over a large area so I set a slick mat below the discharge port and get really good distribution over a large area.

However, also don't be under the mindset that 'Made in China" is an indication of quality. Almost all large pieces of equipment today are at least assembled in China. It doesn't mean it is cheap, flimsy, or inadequate in any way. A lot depends on the original design and supervision/management at the factory. The Chinese plants can turn out top quality products if the specifications are good to begin with.
I own this chipper/shredder, and it is just fine! Read the reviews of other owners to make an informed decision on whether to purchase an item made in China. It may have been designed here, or in Europe. It makes no difference who assembles it, as long as it is assembled according to the designer's plans and specifications. Read Less

Performance is all about the design of feeder openings, location of discharge chute, number/design of cutters and hammers, ease of starting, and reliability of the engine.
My year long research has indicated this machine is the best for the money, and has features that meet the demands of the average homeowner, especially those with large lots.
While no horsepower is given, the displacement indicates it is above the five horsepower you need. Further, investigate the leave suction hose attachment available elsewhere on-line. This machine creates a terrific suction and permits you to literally vacuum your yard leaves with the admittedly somewhat expensive attachment. I don't care. After raking and sucking leaves for two days, with my back breaking, and heat stroke imminent, it's worth whatever it costs. Especially if it gets my wife off my back about getting rid of those d##n leaves every Fall...!!!! Read Less

Answer:
Acorns shouldn't cause a problem, however they should not be dumped into the chipper in large quantities. We would recommend using other leaves or small twigs to give the chipper something else to shred against than just acorns.

3 in. 205cc Chipper Shredder is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 84.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from A true work horse Hard to start at first due to the fact the fuel switch was hard to read ( couldn't tell on from off ) but after I started using it ,it became easier to operate. On the down side, if I were to design the product, I would make the tires larger and wider, and the handle is too short as well. I had a difficult time moving the unit across my yard. Having to bend over so much puts a strain on ones back, I'm going to mount it in my garden tractor's trailer next time. As far as it's ability to shred branches, no problem. It does the job quite well for what it is designed for,3" and smaller. I was able to jam the unit once by over feeding it with too much material, but that wasn't a design fault. It was me trying to get the job done. It wasn't difficult to clear the jam, just removed 3 bolts on the cover plate, using a screw driver to dig out the material, and replace the plate, good to go. The bag attachment , which the book says to use while operating the unit, doesn't stay on very well. It blew off every time so I just left it off. I have 2 acres so I wasn't concerned where the chips were going. I might attach a large rubber hose to the discharge chute instead of using the bag and directing it into a garbage can. I would recommend wearing the eye protection which comes with the unit, and ear plugs would be nice too.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Valued Purchase It is easy to use and meets all my expectations. The savings I have realized in being able to do the yard/tree work myself has nearly paid for the chipper. The only problem I have found is the engine oil fill and check receptacle is very difficult to access. I suggest purchasing a medium size funnel and tube arrangement to facilitate adding oil and a small mirror on a pocket size, telescoping handle to accurately verify required oil level. All in all, with my additions, this unit is a pleasure to have and use. I have received a quality product and excellent 'value for my dollar'.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from over priced First off the chipper chute has this tough rubber on it and almost impossible to feed over 1 1/2" branch through it. The hopper is only good for leaves. If you feed tiny branches through it the hopper clogges up and have to push down with a stick. I removed rubber from chute so i could chip 3" branches. Well max 2" or it will stall engine if hard wood. I changed oil after every use because it turned black. started using 10w-40 and oil stayed clean. so overall once i adjusted how i wanted it the chipper did very well but max i would only do 3" if soft wood and 2" hardwood. Hopper is just leaves only or really fine branches that are short. Only put small amount in at a time or will clog. Way over priced for what it is.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better than Expected For the price I wasn't expecting much. I was pleasantly surprised. It was a piece of cake to get up and running and so far has done an excellent job. Once you get the hang of it you can easily make short work of a pretty sizeable pile of branches. I've gotten good at cutting my branches up in such a way that they fit more easily into the chipper. That makes a big difference. Basically cut them wherever they spread wide so they're mostly "V" shaped. This will help them feed better. So far I've ground up most of a holly tree that I removed, and a pile of branches about the size of two cars. It's worked perfectly. I hope it continues to work this well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Machine! We love this chipper! We really put it through the gauntlet with a year's worth of fallen branches, limbs from three trees we took down, and lots of tree and shrub prunings from our 1/2 acre property. The limbs just glide through like butter! You do need to trim any large, non-flexible limb spurs first if the V is bigger than 3inches. The bags are light weight and nice for carrying to your flower beds to empty. If you are careful getting the bag on correctly there's no problem with it slipping. I am the most excited to use this product but every once in awhile I give my husband a turn!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great chipper/shredder The 3" feed tube does a great job on chipping branches - makes very small fine mulch. Unit is also easy to start and compact enough making it easier to store than some of the other model chipper/shredders

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Fell apart! I used the schredder 1 time and the plastic wheel broke and fell apart I took it back and got my money back

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very nice little shredder, a few minor quibbles A nice piece of equipment, with a few caveats. The user manual does not match the actual product in some key respects. It includes detailed assembly instructions, but my shredder was 99% assembled out of the box. It was very well packed and obviously unused, so this is how it came from the factory. The location of the oil fill cap is literally inaccessible, I had to partially disassemble the shredder by removing the chipper feed tube in order to access the oil fill. Not a big deal, but annoying, and a strange design flaw, especially since the manual shows a non-existent oil fill tube. I could rig up a tube and funnel for the next time I need to fill the crankcase, or use the oil drain to fill it, which could get messy. Starting the machine for the first time was a little odd; the usual sequence with a Briggs&Stratton engine is to set the choke and throttle at maximum, but it refused to start. I eventually turned the choke off, and it started up right away. Fuel economy seems excellent. Fairly easy to start, not ridiculously noisy, the unit runs well and does an excellent job sucking up and shredding leaves, twigs and small sticks through the top-mounted hopper. The side-mounted chipper tube sucked in branches very smoothly, it had no problem with pieces up to 2" in diameter. It produces a nice compact mulch. The nylon bag accessory is sturdy and should last for a while; attaching it to the discharge nozzle is a bit tricky at first, but I got used to it. I like this machine; it works well, it's easy to use in terms of feeding it yard waste, and it's very compact. It seems very well made and sturdy, it may be compact but it's not light-weight. Time will tell in terms of quality, but for now I would recommend it.
