First off the chipper chute has this tough rubber on it and almost impossible to feed over 1 1/2" branch through it. The hopper is only good for leaves. If you feed tiny branches through it the hopper clogges up and have to push down with a stick. I removed rubber from chute so i could chip 3" branches. Well max 2" or it will stall engine if hard wood. I changed oil after every use because it turned black. started using 10w-40 and oil stayed clean. so overall once i adjusted how i wanted it the chipper did very well but max i would only do 3" if soft wood and 2" hardwood. Hopper is just leaves only or really fine branches that are short. Only put small amount in at a time or will clog. Way over priced for what it is.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Spike Very nice little shredder, a few minor quibbles
A nice piece of equipment, with a few caveats.
The user manual does not match the actual product in some key respects. It includes detailed assembly instructions, but my shredder was 99% assembled out of the box. It was very well packed and obviously unused, so this is how it came from the factory.
The location of the oil fill cap is literally inaccessible, I had to partially disassemble the shredder by removing the chipper feed tube in order to access the oil fill. Not a big deal, but annoying, and a strange design flaw, especially since the manual shows a non-existent oil fill tube. I could rig up a tube and funnel for the next time I need to fill the crankcase, or use the oil drain to fill it, which could get messy.
Starting the machine for the first time was a little odd; the usual sequence with a Briggs&Stratton engine is to set the choke and throttle at maximum, but it refused to start. I eventually turned the choke off, and it started up right away. Fuel economy seems excellent.
Fairly easy to start, not ridiculously noisy, the unit runs well and does an excellent job sucking up and shredding leaves, twigs and small sticks through the top-mounted hopper. The side-mounted chipper tube sucked in branches very smoothly, it had no problem with pieces up to 2" in diameter. It produces a nice compact mulch. The nylon bag accessory is sturdy and should last for a while; attaching it to the discharge nozzle is a bit tricky at first, but I got used to it.
I like this machine; it works well, it's easy to use in terms of feeding it yard waste, and it's very compact. It seems very well made and sturdy, it may be compact but it's not light-weight. Time will tell in terms of quality, but for now I would recommend it.

It is easy to use and meets all my expectations. The savings I have realized in being able to do the yard/tree work myself has nearly paid for the chipper. The only problem I have found is the engine oil fill and check receptacle is very difficult to access. I suggest purchasing a medium size funnel and tube arrangement to facilitate adding oil and a small mirror on a pocket size, telescoping handle to accurately verify required oil level. All in all, with my additions, this unit is a pleasure to have and use. I have received a quality product and excellent 'value for my dollar'.

Hard to start at first due to the fact the fuel switch was hard to read ( couldn't tell on from off ) but after I started using it ,it became easier to operate.
On the down side, if I were to design the product, I would make the tires larger and wider, and the handle is too short as well. I had a difficult time moving the unit across my yard. Having to bend over so much puts a strain on ones back, I'm going to mount it in my garden tractor's trailer next time.
As far as it's ability to shred branches, no problem. It does the job quite well for what it is designed for,3" and smaller. I was able to jam the unit once by over feeding it with too much material, but that wasn't a design fault. It was me trying to get the job done. It wasn't difficult to clear the jam, just removed 3 bolts on the cover plate, using a screw driver to dig out the material, and replace the plate, good to go.
The bag attachment , which the book says to use while operating the unit, doesn't stay on very well. It blew off every time so I just left it off. I have 2 acres so I wasn't concerned where the chips were going. I might attach a large rubber hose to the discharge chute instead of using the bag and directing it into a garbage can.
I would recommend wearing the eye protection which comes with the unit, and ear plugs would be nice too.

I've already put 10 hours on it ,and it works fine, starts on the first pull even after a short shut down. The only quibble is the bag which really doesn't attach well to the chute. The chipper is excellent.Overall highly recommended.

We love this chipper! We really put it through the gauntlet with a year's worth of fallen branches, limbs from three trees we took down, and lots of tree and shrub prunings from our 1/2 acre property. The limbs just glide through like butter! You do need to trim any large, non-flexible limb spurs first if the V is bigger than 3inches. The bags are light weight and nice for carrying to your flower beds to empty. If you are careful getting the bag on correctly there's no problem with it slipping. I am the most excited to use this product but every once in awhile I give my husband a turn!

Two days of trimming 24 post oaks gone in two hours. Hadn't trimmed them in years. They generated 16 large trash cans of stuff. Do use the goggles provided and do spring for some good noise suppressing head phones.
