Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Lock Great machine for small to medium yard work.
This little chipper is worth every penny. Good construction and to top it off a Briggs engine. Breaking down the machine to either sharpen the blades or work on the engine can take anyone with the right tools 10-30 minutes. I have half an acre of land with mixed trees from pecan, oak to arborvitaes. I had around five months of mixed limbs and scrub clippings piled on the side of my house. Mostly dry and a few green this machine ate through all of it minus the four inch plus limbs. Near the eight hour mark of use the blades began to show wear. Only took me forty five minutes first time to open machine up and sharpen blades, and reassemble. It will take less time next time as I'm now familiar with how to break it down.
I did remove the chute safety as it was getting in the way of limb feeding. I read the front leg can sink into the ground but I did not have this happen. I also read that the bag doesn't stay on, I however did not use the bag as I had the chipper facing a brick wall. It was a good five feet from wall as to avoid ricocheting debris.
This machine is a must if you own a good size property and have a lot of old growth trees and scrubs. If you have some mechanical knowledge you should have little trouble being able to sharpen and work on this chipper. Do wear safety glasses, as this bad boy spits along with ear plugs as to not go deaf. GLOVES, I cannot stress this one, this beast will pull limbs if you're not paying attention, it also likes to vibrate the limb while feeding. You should also wear good jeans "not shorts" if not using the collection bag as the amount of air pressure coming out the waste chute is very powerful and will carve out any grass along with spitting chips everywhere. Had a piece of bark hit me in arm and it stung, so do be careful.
A+ Grade. This is based on the base model with no attachments. I even removed a safety guard to feed faster and would not recommend doing that unless you know what you are doing.
Pros are pretty solid as to small and medium DIY yard workers.
Cons, well I ran into zero trouble aside from size limit I could feed this beast. I read some people have said it was poorly assembled and that could be linked to the manufacturer and should be returned. Leg sticking into ground only tells me your doing this on a semi wet ground which is asking for problems. And as for the collection bag, all I can say is you're putting it on wrong. Just tested it and it never popped off.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Pinky Earthquake.....the name delivers! Heavy duty performance but light enough to move around by a 110 lb 60+!
This was my July birthday present!!!!! I love shredding as I feel this recycles environmental waste. I had a small electric shredder for years but we moved to a bigger house and this was just not cutting it. I tried the Earthquake and I love it. There was a slight problem with a part and customer service sent the replacement out within a week. Would definitely recommend to anyone....because the weight is 50lbs under most other shredders but the output is greater 20/1....go for it!

For the price I wasn't expecting much. I was pleasantly surprised. It was a piece of cake to get up and running and so far has done an excellent job. Once you get the hang of it you can easily make short work of a pretty sizeable pile of branches. I've gotten good at cutting my branches up in such a way that they fit more easily into the chipper. That makes a big difference. Basically cut them wherever they spread wide so they're mostly "V" shaped. This will help them feed better.
So far I've ground up most of a holly tree that I removed, and a pile of branches about the size of two cars. It's worked perfectly. I hope it continues to work this well.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by jarrettfan shoddy construction but chips like a banshee
the usual pros and cons I've seen in other reviews - hopper holes not correctly aligned so I had to enlarge them with file to fit; oil fill very awkward and need the hose funnel; lost nuts into the chamber while trying to attach the hopper, but fortunately there's an easily removed plate and I was able to get them out. Really powerful and good at chipping. Anti-throwback skirt in hopper useless, just lies limp - I got too close and got some brush back in the face - fortunately was wearing the goggles. Pretty heavy for me to haul up my steep hill. But, it really, really gets the job done

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by jimk A darn fine shredder for the home gardener
All I had to do was connect 2 bolts to fix the handle in place. I took it upon myself to do a bolt check on the flywheel, hammers and chipping blades. All were fully tight and did not require additional tightening. I was able to stop the chipper up with wet leaves...Nothing I could do cause they were left over from last fall. I did take the chipper apart, clean everything out and I was on my way again. I think the unit is a good value for my yard and garden. The Briggs motor started on the second pull.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by RobbieG A good machine for the price.
I like everything about this machine except the way you have to attach the chip-collection bag. The drawstring for closing the bag won't stay tight, and the lips on the machine that you have to hook the bag onto do not protrude enough that the bag will stay secured when chipping. The only other minor problem was that the holes in the plastic hopper did not line up with the bolt pattern on the machine when attaching the hopper. I had to drill out the holes in the plastic in order for the bolts to pass through into the hopper. This problem took only five minutes to fix, but it is a sign of sloppy design. I'm a retired power tool designer and I would do better. It looks like the hopper attachment means was an afterthought.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by coley1280 So far, so good!
It has done everything it should - I'm really pleased with the product. Easy to disassemble & clean, cutting tools difficult to remove (as it should be). I've been using it every day for at least 2 hours...lots of brush to clean up. It does NOT like hardwoods- ash/oak/maple - struggles a little.

Unpacked the chipper. It had no shipping defects. Put in oil and poured in gasoline. Pulled one time and it started. I shredded for about half hour. The results are fabulous. I did a lot of research before buying. I am satisfied and would recommend this item. It has a Briggs and Stratton engine. Could't get any better.
