Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Electric start does not work at all!!! The electric start does not work at all !!!!!!! The product works OK but the main reason for my purchase was the electric start and it does not work at all!! You have to pull start it !!!!!! March 11, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Product quit working after two uses and was returned. "Partial assembly" can often be more of a problem than anticipated and I found that the directions were not well written and the drawings were of poor quality. After putting it together, connecting the electric starter, and fueling with a 50:1 oil: gas mixture I put it to the test getting our flower garden ready for planting. However the 2nd time out after an hour of tilling, the tines quit turning even though the motor was functioning. Not sure if clutch spring broke. Next day engine would not start so we decided to send it back to manufacturer. April 30, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Little Powerhourse I've only had the Earthquake electric start mini-tiller a few days, but yesterday I tilled new ground for 5 hours straight and the tiller never skipped a beat. I just had to finally stop to rest. I'll finish the job next week. The electric start worked great. The battery did die on me, but the pull start was soooo easy. I've since recharged the battery for my next use. The ground is old pasture land and is hard as a brick, but the tiller never stopped. Once the ground is tilled, keeping it weedless for my garden will be a breeze with this big little tiller. March 7, 2009
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Mediocre considering parts expense and battery problems. This is the 2nd year of ownership for this cultivator. When we initially got it the gas cap was broken so they promptly sent another one. After 6 months the battery start no longer functions, The battery will not charge. This year we just sent in an order for new tines as these are flattened. The cost for new tines or any parts for this cultivator are prohibitively expensive (83.25 for new tines) . All in all it digs well but, the cost of parts in the long haul and the non functional battery make this a mediocre cultivator. September 8, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great For Gardening After reviewing other tiller's in this class size. This tiller performed exceptionally well. I live in Texas and the soil here is full of rocks and very hard. Lots of hard clay as well. I was able to culivate a new garden area in the yard with a bit of time and patience. The tiller is small but has a bit of power for its size. You will have to work the soil back and forth to eventually get it smooth and broken up. The tines hit rocks and cut through the limestone rocks. Overall a good tiller for the money. Mine came with a free edger add-on. March 26, 2008
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice little cutivator I have had this for about 2 months now. Have used it for two projects. First was to reseed a patch of ground about 10' x 5' of hard clay and dirt. It took a little work but it handled it just fine. The second project was putting retaining wall brick around my house,it worked perfect for tilling to get the first row down. Putting the unit together was a snap. Have only had to charge the battery once and that was before the first use. It started right up with the first click of the key and every time since the same way. September 2, 2011
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Poor performer I bought this after my other brand cultivator could go no longer (after many years). With an electric start I thought this one would be that much better. Wrong. I got about 6 months of ownership, mostly sitting in the garage out of it before overhauls needed. Battery never holds a charge, even when new. All fuel lines and priming bulb totally disentigrated in less than a year. You have to remove the fuel tank just to replace the priming bulb! It's an odd size to boot. One of the bolts that hold the fuel tank in place is nearly impossible to remove without a sheet metal thin open end wrench (metric). Gas tank cap threads are mismatched. Once it does crank, engine stalls under light load. No other attachments available such as dethatcher or edger. Save your money and buy anything else. April 23, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Very poor product and service We purchased a cultivator as an attempt at giving Ardisam a second chance after purchasing a roto tiller from them that was a flop. On the second time we used this cultivator the choke became stuck. Still being under waranty we called Ardisam and asked them to repair/replace it. Instead they gave us verbal instruction on how to repair it ourselves. When the repair did not work we called again and again asked them to repair/replace it. This time they asked us to ship it to Rapid City South Dakota (the closest associate to us who would work with them) 240 miles away. A week later we recieved a call from them saying they would not repair/replace it as the part not working was not under waranty. As for my family we will NEVER purchase another product from Ardisam or any of its divisions and we recommend against it to anyone we know. September 11, 2013
