I did some research before buying a snow-thrower, as I didn't want to spend a lot of money on a large gas-powered model. I researched reviews on Amazon.Com, and even chatted with a Home Depot online rep (who recommended the TORO model, despite bad reviews on other sites). I chose this model due to the decent reviews and the excellent price.
When it arrived (exactly when Home Depot said it would), I took it out of the box in order to use it immediately, as we already had snow on the ground. The directions were a bit vague, but by looking at the picture on the box and in the instructions, you can figure out what you need to do. The assembly was easy once I figured out what went where.
Once assembled, I tested it out on the day-old snow. As the reviews stated, this snow-thrower throws the snow 15-20 feet straight ahead of you. So try not to face into the wind. This snow-thrower does exactly what you (should have) bought it for. It moves the snow efficiently. No it's not going to move the volume of snow that a larger gas powered unit will, but you don't buy it to compare to the larger units. If you have a small area to clear, this is the machine. If you have larger areas, you might want to consider a larger gas-powered model.
This snow-thrower has already saved me an aching back and lots of time versus shoveling by hand. Well worth the money I paid for this, and recommend it for those with smaller areas to clear.
The only thing I regret is that the website ordering does not allow me to apply a Military discount, which I get at the stores. Other than that, I love this snow-thrower!
