Recently after a great deal of research I decided to try this pole saw. I ordered it on line an it arrived a couple of days early. Some assembly was required, it took about 30 minutes to put together and then charge the batteries. The battery it came with allows for approximately a half hour of cut time. The replacement battery which is quit a bit larger last a substantial time longer, 45 minutes. to a hour.
I have been cutting a variety of material sizes and wood types and I am completely satisfied to date. I am really glad I held out for this saw with the telescopic pole and adjustable cutting head positions.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by retiredsoldier Good for light to medium duty around the house
This saw is a little top heavy, could use more power/chain speed and only cuts about an hour before needing a recharge. It is however a good light to medium duty saw for household use. If you read and follow the manual (for things like battery life, chain service/tightened, saw speed) you shouldn't be disappointed. I've only used it about 4 hours but haven't had any of the problems other people have mentioned. This is my first battery powered saw of any type and it has exceeded my expectations. I've cut limbs and trees up to approximately 6 inches without any trouble. My biggest problem is my buds wanting to borrow it.

This isn't meant for big jobs, but it does work well for trimming trees. The instructions for putting the chain on the saw looks like they were done by a 2nd grader, and they are basically of little use. If you put the chain on and it doesn't cut, take it apart and reverse the chain it works much better when cutting in the proper direction.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Highhopes Seems like a good product but not as tough as I had hoped.
I studied the pole saws quite a bit before I bought this one. I had used a plug in type of another brand and was really thrilled with it. I thought I would upgrade to a cordless for those trees away from the house a ways. This cordless needs some more horse power, it was a bit disappointing. It cuts good only very slow. and only lasts for 15 or 20 minutes. The bright side, when I got it the battery would not charge so I called the number on the manual and they sent me a new one right away, I was impressed by the quick service. I checked the no to recommend this but only because I am used to a chain saw and I guess I was expecting too much. For the occasional job it would be fine. I want more get up and go.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Jojo Earthwise Pole Saw - Battery Powered
I was a bit hesitant at first for buying any saw that was powered by a battery. But this saw is totally awesome. It cuts limbs six inch in diameter and really handles itself very well. For an older female, I found putting it together a bit tricky as the manual was horrible.
But once I charged the battery and got the saw going, it lasted almost all day trimming everything from pine to walnut to maple. And it still ran the next day before the battery just died.
The only CON on this whole thing was the weight at 9 pounds and the pole is thick cardboard type. I wouldn't extended it very far as it isn't sturdy enough. But for an all around saw to trim branches and cut thick tree stuff, this pole saw ROCKS!
Great battery life, cuts through just about anything and handles well at a short extension.

I have been using the regular pole saw to trim branches along my property line to make it easier to cut the grass. (approximately 500') This saw just made it a lot quicker to get that "twice a year" project completed. Battery life is about 20-30 minutes depending on how you use the saw. I learned to let the battery "cool" a few minutes before putting it back into the charger or it will flash "defective". Once it has cooled some it will charge fine. While the battery is charging, I'm hauling off what I had cut. I believe if you treat it properly it will last for some time, It definately isn't for the pros, just weekend warriors. Going to order another battery and a spare chain, The best part no gasoline, no trying to start a motor that has been sitting up half the year., quieter, light weight also.

Good light-weigh pole saw for those hard to reach places. Saw runs average one hour per charge.

Didn't think I would have to use it as much as I have. The tilting head helps you get the best angle, there is a window so you can see the oil left (not all saws have this). It does have fade-free power - just keep in mind how long you've used it. You don't get much indication the battery is dying (got stuck the first time in a tree halfway through the cut). Otherwise, saves lots of time and when the battery is recharging you can pick up the cut pieces.
