Specs say 16 ft. max cord length. What happens if you
need to use a 50 ft. ext. cord? (I've been able to use
the 50 ft. cord on my cheap hand-held B&D trimmer
just fine.)

Answer:
Specs online are incorrect for cord length. Manual that comes with it say 100' at 16 gauge or 150' at 14 gauge. I used mine with 16g 100' and it worked great.

Answer:
Thank you for your question. You can certainly use a 50 ft cord or even longer based on the gage of the extension cord. Please review the Extension Cord chart again. I've shown it in a different format below.
Length of 0-25 ft - recommended use is an 18 gage extension cord
Length of 26-50 ft - recommended use is a 16 gage extension cord
Length of 51-100 ft - recommended use is a 16 or 14 gage extension

Answer:
The cord length depends on the amperage rating and gauge of your extension cord.
For example: a 12 gauge cord with 10-12 amperage, you may use a 101- 150 ft extension cord safely.
Please see the owners manual for the extension cord information.
thank you.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Awkward This is a very awkward device. I knew it would be a little hard to handle but even more so than I thought. I believe if I would have picked it up at the strore, I may have had second thoughts but would have purchased it anyway. I bought it to use fully extended and know that is the worst for handling. The other thing that surprised me a bit is that it does not seem to cut as well as an 18" Craftsman unit that I have. This one looks like it will cut thicker branches than the Craftsman (5/8" vs 3/4") but it doesn't seem to move through smaller diameter branches as well. Bottom line, if you need the extension, you probably cannot get better than this for the price. Just figure you will need to take breaks while using the unit. September 6, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great product, great price I needed a way to reach the tops of the bushes around my house and after looking at my options i landed on this one. Its cheap, and while i normally spend for high quality tools, this is something i will only use a few times a year so i took the chance on it. I have to say i am quite surprised at how solid it feels for less than $70. Fully extended it gets quite heavy after using it for a while. My wife was not able to use it at full length for more than a couple minutes. Personally i would recommend this to anyone. September 6, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Well worth the price Good trimmer, easy to switch from pole to regular trimmer. ...fairly light weight, unless of course you fully extend it, but that can't be helped...I had a Remington pole hedge trimmer fo 8 years before the motor finally burnt, it also was top heavy if fully extended.....cuts with ease ...very pleased with this purchase.....excellant value..... Only feature missing is a switch lock to lock the trimmer in the on position, my old Remington had this feature. ...just squeezeing the trigger would shut it off ....that's my only down side with this trimmer. .... Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by at first really great! I really like the ease of how the pole goes on and off. very convienent and easy. At first it trimmed the tree branches and bushes very well. after an hour of use it seemed to get dull or wouldn't cut as easy as at the beginning of my trimming project. over all worked well. oiled up blade and will try again when branches go out. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Well designed, versatile tool, works great. I really like the tool, goes from a standard hedge trimmer to a long reach hedge trimmer in a minute. I have a 12 foot Holly that's very broad, I needed something to get to the center of the top. Be aware that with the trimmer head attached and the pole extended to maximum reach, most of the weight is at the trimmer head, it makes for challenging balancing while on a ladder, but I have no doubt a younger person would have no issues. It's ready to use straight out of the box. For a tool I may use once or twice a year it's perfect, no batteries to slowly degrade or heavy gas engine to lift. Once done I put it all back in the box for storage. July 21, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by very nice A bit heavy but powerful, i would definately recommend it. September 6, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good trimmer! Appears to be of high quality and workmanship. Cuts very well, even on our very mature and high hemlock tree. Only wish it were slightly lighter, since it gets heavy when you are extending your arms for a prolonged period of time. August 29, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Didnt match expectation Wouldn't recommend it if the hedges you're trimming are wider than 2.5 ft. The 18 blade simply too short. Cutting tall hedges - even if from both sides still left a gap that required a ladder to cut flat. Thus, didn't meet my expectation. Contacted manufacturer and was told no longer blade length was available, so I returned the unit. August 30, 2016
