Customer Reviews

Rated 4.3 out of 5 by 81 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good but...... This is a good product and a good value. It performs like a champ and makes short work of even large branches (10" diameter). The only down side is that this thing is heavy. When it is collapsed (as short as it gets) it's a real winner. But... when it is fully extended you better have some serious muscles to stabalize it. My wife can't use it due to the weight but even I found it difficult fully extended and I'm a weight lifter. Put it this way: The pole saw is great for any trimming you have. But keep in mind fully extended, if you can't lift a 9 foot 2x4 with a cement block on the end you will not like this saw. Good product and would reccomend it. November 6, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great for annual tree trimming I have 3 oak trees and a number of smaller ones that need annual trimming. After doing considerable research, I was convinced an electric pole saw was the product I needed. I continued researching electric saws, and based on user reviews I was sold on this product. As indicated by many other reviewers, the saw was a bit heavy when fully extended, but not unreasonable. The largest limbs I needed to trim were 6-7 inches, and this saw cut through them with ease. The vast majority of the limbs were 2-3 inches, and the saw worked fabulously. I would highly recommend this to anyone with similar needs - terrific cutting power. I'll look forward to using it next year. April 30, 2011
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Everyone should have one of these Every home owner with trees needs this say. If you've every used a pole saw and tried to saw back and for on a limb 15 feet off the ground, you will really appreciate this tool. Granted it feels a little heavy on the end when extended but not unreasonably. Certainly not as heavy as a previous saw I owned. When shortened to the minimum length, it can easily be used to trim branches on the ground after cutting the big limb off the tree. For $100, you can't go wrong. February 10, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by easy to use I followed the instructions and put the saw together no problem. I've only used it for a couple of hours but had no problems with it. Cut through a branch that was 8 inches and the saw didn't seem to notice. Some people commented on the chain getting loose after a bit but I didn't have that happen. I didn't extend the length from the minimum setting cuz the weight would have been to much for me to balance. Most of the work I was doing was on a ladder. I'm sure a guy wouldn't have that problem. This saw works great and is easy to use. I would recommend it. August 23, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Chain problems I bought this to triim up some trees. I took off 6 or 7 branches and it worked great. Next I tried it on a shrub and the chain came off. I tried two days to get the chain to work again. It would not, pull, through the blade. I called Ryobi help line. They said I should look for nubs on the chain and to file them off since they were keeping the chain from going around the blade. I could never get the chain to work again so took it back. I have owned a few chain saws and never had this type of problem before. December 22, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by CAUTION! Problem with power switch. Purchased online and received the pole saw about two weeks back, and finally unboxed it today. After attaching the blade, I plugged in the saw and discovered that the switch was "On". This mangled the blade scabbard a bit!. So, I disconnected the power, fiddled with the switch, and was able to finally able to safely plug in the saw. I then cut three 2-inch branches, but the saw would NOT turn off despite fiddling with the switch and top button! Returned it immediately to Home Depot. They gave me a full refund and were very courteous and understanding. I have not yet decided what to do about a replacement, but their is a very good chance that I will buy from Home Depot due to their return policy! February 19, 2011
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good product for price - Horrible documentation The product works well, and easily handled tree limbs and small trees. It has an automatic chain oiler, but a tool is needed for chain tightening. It would be better if chain tightening could be done without a tool. The product quality is about what I expected for the price. However, the assembly instructions are almost useless. The pictures are of such poor quality that you can't tell which was the chain should be assembled. If you are handy enough to assemble without instructions, then this is a product that might work well for you. November 5, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great little saw Bought this for limbing assorted trees on my property. This little saw worked great. Was going to buy anothe brand and noticed that this one had a auto oiler. That was the deal breaker. It cut through everything I gave it. I do wish it would come apart so I could use it just as a chainsaw. Thought it did , but I was mistaken. Great saw for limbing . Also liked the fact that the bar and chain were a name brand that I could order online . Oh yeah I believe this came with a two year guarantee and the competition had one. October 9, 2013
