Customer Questions & Answers

Does the saw need to be put together before using for the 1st time?

In regards to the convertible pole chainsaw....
Asked by: Judy
The bar and chain has to be installed, but it's no big deal. Just make sure you put the chain on the right way. If it doesn't cut, the chain is on backward.

How much does this apparatus weigh?
Asked by: MrBill
The saw itself doesn't weigh very much. It's easy to use. I haven't tried it with the pole, but like all pole saws with the saw at the far end, I know it's going to be a little harder to use, but still manageable.

Can this online purchased item be returned to the local Home Depot for refund or exchange and is there a time sensitive policy for this item?>

Asked by: jayboy7
Yes - I've returned several products purchased from HD.com to my local store. The secret is that the email that confirms shipping gives you a return date. I've always made sure to return any item by the return date, and have never had a problem.

The description states it's "Tools required" chain adjuster, but the specification features lists it as being a "no-tool" model. Which is it?
Asked by: StarzNUrEyz
Not sure what that means....it comes with a tool that you use to adjust the chain tension.

I cut down a 50' row of florida cherry bushes that were over 12' tall to 4'.Some of the trunks were 3' thick. I had trouble with the chain jumping off but that was because it was not tight enough or I used it at an awkward angle. The assembly of the chain itself can be a little tricky until it is understood.

Cut through 3" limbs easily. Instructions could be better or a link to a video would be nice for assembly. I have experience with chain saws so putting on the chain was not a issue. Does not come with chain oil.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great This is a very good small saw for cutting branches off bushes and being able to lengthen the pole to reach bushes and small trees especially if you're short. I would recommend this to make quick work of some of your yards needs just don't use it on anything too big.

I purchased electric because I was tired of always having to have the engine worked on (carburetor). I purchased the corded version because I wanted the consistency of always having power without relying upon the battery, but probably should have considered the battery operated one more carefully, as the cord really makes trimming high branches from a ladder cumbersome. It is still going to take some practice to get to the point where I can make cuts with precision, as when you are holding it up in the air it is really hard to see where the blade is actually cutting. I don't have experience with other models to compare it to though. I really love the fact that it is modular and the front chainsaw part detaches and can be assembled with the rear as a regular chainsaw without the pole. That is what sold me on this model. One more down side is that this thing really goes through the bar oil. I have to refill the reservoir every 20 minutes or so to keep it running smoothly. I got what I paid for though. Still looking for the perfect pole saw.
