is your bird netting the deluxe type

I have ordered a deluxe type of bird netting from Gurney. What you show here is wrapped package so I can't compare it to the so called deluxe bird netting from Gurney. Their's is a rubbery 5/8ths" or !" grid. Please advise me if this is the same thing or just the thin 1" squares of a hard thin plastic netting that is sometimes used for Deer deterant!

I don't have a deer problem, only birds. I've trie everything else in my organic vineyard. This is the only solution, and its not harmful to the birds or our crop. We harvest over 500lbs of gapes to make wine.

Are those stuff fit to keep animals away.

How d urable are those in open air winter times.
Asked by: RD1936
Sure keeps the birds in check. Takes two people about an hour to cover 100 vines. Ten cases of home made red wine, some think is really good wine and couldn't get this result with any other method I've tried. Bird tape, everything that blows in the wind and a porcelain owl did nothing. Lost almost all the red grapes in just few days. Netting lets the grapes ripen to the ideal sugar content for making wine.

Customer Reviews

14 ft. x 45 ft. BirdBlock Protective Mesh Covering is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 50.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from My Tomatoes Stayed Safe and Untouched By Birds and Deer Two large pieces of the mesh protected my 4 x 5 foot above ground tomato planter from birds, squirrels, and deer. The mesh can be secured to the earth with a small bag of garden anchors easily. It is now mid-October, and my tomatoes are growing like crazy with the cooler temperatures in Charlotte, NC. I have not lost one tomato to birds, squirrels, or deer, and a HERD of 6 deer walked right up to the planter the other day and could not touch my plants. The birds try and try to get through the mesh, but cannot penetrate it. I recommend this product highly. I put the mesh over 8 VERY tall, heavy duty eight foot tall green garden poles to create sort of a greenhouse, so the plants have plenty of room to grow. Sunlight and rain can go right through the mesh easily. Lots of wild life in my backyard, so this endeavor has been a roaring success.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from For the birds The netting is fine but the way it is packaged makes it difficult to unwrap and install.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Birdblock mesh Although a bit more than what I needed, buying the mesh on the roll was more economical than the small package. Placed over a frame it does a good job protecting our berries from the birds.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from works great for birds and small animals This saved my vegetable garden. It's strong and works very well, it's 5/8" rather than 1" like other mesh. The downside is the width, it's very hard to roll it out and cut it by yourself, particularly if you do something stupid like I did and try to roll it out when the wind is blowing. An option for a 6' or 8' width would be great

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Experimenting with a new idea I've placed this mesh along the east side of my house where I have multiple AC compressors and some duct work. The cats love to come over and urinate on my equipment and in the fall the equipment can be covered in leaves and the leaves pile up in the hard to reach crevasses. So far this mesh seems to be discouraging the critters but it won't be for a few months that I see if it is effective against the falling leaves. I used small brass hooks to drape the mesh from the house soffit across to the top of the wooden fence (10 feet?). I don't expect it to stop all of the leaves but hopefully a large percentage of them. It shall be interesting to see how the rain and wind affect the leaves on the mesh.
