Answer:
I think the weave is too loose to adequately control weeds. Weed cloth would be a better choice.

Answer:
I'm sure it will help, but it is a mesh. Sun light can get through, and it isn't a UV rated material. If you are looking to keep plastic from deteriorating over a long period of time, you might want to look at other coatings that have more of a UV block to them.

Answer:
I'm not sure UV Rays are really penetrating. Maybe something that's designed to block sun. Check the garden department plant covering material.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Does just what i want I use this product, soaked in mortar to create mountains on my outdoor model railroad. Works great as stable medium and is economical for this purpose. September 6, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by I use this on my shrubs every year. Helps a lot with wind/cold burn October 25, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Used for Decoration I bought this to cover some flower pots on my front porch and it worked great. October 11, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very Good Film The film really cuts down the UV and sun light without blocking much of light (transparency). Easy to apply. October 18, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice to know you can get this in the store EAsy to work with to cover grass seed and help keep it moist. Grass already growing strong and healthy September 13, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Product Satisfication The burlap was a very efficent product for an area of my lawn that I had re-seeded. I applied the burlap, covering the seeded area and sprinled with water every day for 5 days. After the 5th day I already had new grass protruding through the burlap. September 13, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very practical use for burlap I found this product makes an excellent cover to protect my A/C unit during the winter months. The burlap doesn't retain moisture than can lead to rust. And it keeps debris from entering the unit. Just secure it with cord to keep the wind from blowing it off the unit. September 13, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Burlap for shading plants. This is lightweight, loosely woven burlap which we used to provide shade for some new plantings. We tied the fabric to stakes to shade the plants and it worked well. This is lighter, looser burlap, not the same as the stiff, tightly woven burlap that you might find in a fabric store. It will work well for various garden applications. August 24, 2016
