Asked by: mo
These are 4" long. That is correct and appropriate length, as I say just right to hold the fabric flying out by wind gust, and easy enough to push through the fabric or using a light tapping with a hammer or mallet.

Which product can I hammer into the dirt because my ground is impossible to "simply press" the clips or pegs into. Are the pegs or the metal clips easier and wont break or bend if hit with a hammer? Are there any other options when you have a very hard rocky ground? Does the fabric keep the weeds away?

Read other reviews....what do People expect???? These are NOT made of titanium. anything plastic will break if you beat it with a hammer. And, a complaint that the peg creates a hole where a weed can grow???? Give me a break.

The pegs were useful when laying out the fabric to the size and shape of the area I wanted covered - And then keeping the material in-place when cutting or trimming it to fit the area correctly. Also, perfect and needed when you want to lay out multiple pieces of fabric. Use one peg to hold the 2 adjoining pieces in-place / areas of overlap. Easy to push them through the fabric and into the ground - And strong /sturdy enough to really push on them through tougher dirt / soil. The pegs kept the material in-place until I was ready to put mulch over top of the fabric. In the picture, 2 of the pegs are visible.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worked great I've used the old metal pins for years and hate trying to run them into hard ground. I read the reviews here before buying. Some said it did not work for their ground but thought I'd try anyway. I have very dense clay and rock ground in my backyard. I used my work 20oz hammer and soft taps. I only broke the head on one peg because I gave it one extra tap. My words of advice: use light taps and strike level with the peg. Only drive til the peg is flush with the ground. DO NOT try to send peg deeper than ground level in hard dirt. Overall I really like these pegs and will continue to use them.

In the past I've always held the black plastic down (I put around my tomato plants) by digging a trench and using large rocks. I decided to try these fabric pegs and they worked great, so bought a total of 4 packages and will definitely use them every year!!

I gave only 4 points because in my opinion a good practice product, easy to use but EXPENSIVE for what it does! These plastic pegs can be made from re-cycled materials and should include a lot more for the price OR at lower cost.

This was a first time purchase and will recommend to others. Slightly harder to install thru landscape fabric than the metal staple type but these are reusable and easily seen so they can be removed at the end of the planting season.

It had been a few days since any rain so the ground was not muddy or hard baked. The pegs pushed into the ground easily and the tops are large enough to hold the fabric, even in the brisk wind that day, until a more secure border could be laid down.

The plastic fabric pegs are easy to install and hold down, just fine, the heavy duty fabric that we are using in our garden. The metal clips that we had been using tend to rot out with rust. I really like the plastic fabric pegs.
