Seems to trip with the slightest touch could it be defective???

It's not uncommon to receive a defective breaker. You may want to check the actual current with a clamp on meter before just replacing it though.

you would fit in cutler hammer panel

Asked by: Van
Typically these will fit physically in a Cutler Hammer panel. You need to go to the Eaton website and confirm they are listed for the purpose. They have a nice graphic showing their fit.

Customer Reviews

100 Amp Double-Pole Type BR Circuit Breaker is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Replacement Main Breaker I intalled my new breaker and it wouldn't work. It was my rental unit, so I reinstalled the original so I could go get another one. When I turned the old one back on,it no longer overloaded.Appears there was a slightly loose aluminum wire causing the breaker to heat up and trip. Upon checking the new breaker, it appears the new breaker was shipped in a tripped position. I am not going to reinstall it to make sure when I no longer have an issue, so I have a new breaker I will probably never use. I guess at least my tripping breaker problem is solved. I am recommending it assuming I overlooked it being probably being tripped. I guess I could do a continuity check to verify it works properly.

PG&E came by and disconnected the power by removing the meter and installling the safety shield, It took only minutes for installation. The technician came back and reinstalled the power and voila! No more intermittent power!
