Eaton Air Conditioning Disconnects (ACD) are located between a loadcenter (distribution panel) and an air conditioner. ACDs provide a visible disconnecting means when performing maintenance and are commonly referred to as disconnects, pullouts or air conditioning switches. There are 3 standard designs, Non-fused, Fused and a Molded Case Switch. Applications: Air Conditioners, Heat Pumps, Water Heaters, and other locations where a local disconnect is required.

  • Use to disconnect power from an air-conditioning unit
  • Metallic case is approved for outdoor use
  • ON/OFF control provided by a pullout handle
  • Pullout handle can be conveniently stored in the compartment in the OFF position, helping to prevent the handle from being misplaced
  • Protective shield cannot be removed until the pullout handle is removed, disconnecting the power
  • Knockouts on back, bottom and sides offer a variety of configurations
  • Optional ACDs with Ground Fault Receptacles or Weather- Resistant/Tamper-Resistant Receptacles are available

CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 4.3 out of 5 by 9 reviewers.
Rated 4 out of 5 by Non Fused I no longer am keeping myself educated about the National Electric Code or local city/county building codes. This disconnect will work fine. Just be sure the codes or the equipment manufacturer don't require a fused disconnect. When I was installing air conditioners in the '70's we were ALWAYS required to use a fused disconnect.. Rated 5 out of 5 by Great for aluminum to copper water heater connection I was trying to find a way to make a safe aluminum to copper wire connection between my water heater and a water heater timer. The water heater timer I found out was not rated for aluminum wire when I opened the box. The only other option I could come up with was to pay a specialized electrician an exorbitant amount of money to come out and do a copalum connection, but then I found this which is dual copper aluminum rated and it solved this problem. The box itself has several knockouts on the sides, bottom and rear. I was able to bring the existing wire in the rear using a strain relief then exited through the side in to flexible conduit going to the timer. Works great and it's safe, the connection actually runs cooler with this wire under set screw type of setup. July 25, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by GREAT TO WORK WITH THIS IS GOOD FOR AC OR HEAT PUMPS OR GREAT FOR WATER HEATER SAFETY SWITCH SERVICE DISCONNECT May 22, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Fast and Smiple Got this to place by the furnace as a means of cutting the power for cleaning and serving the unit. Breaker panel was relocated to the basement for the HVAC with a new sub-panel. So a safe way to ensure the power is off was this disconnect. May 12, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by Loose Pullout I just bought 2 of the DPU222RP Pull Out air conditioner disconnects. The pull out is so loose; it actually falls out when I tip the case over. Shouldn’t it have more resistance on the pull for a good connection? Will be returning for a different brand. September 20, 2013
