I wan to use this in my small house, but the problem my gas line is only 1/2'' so i wan to ask you this unit it will work wirh 1/2' gas line ?

Asked by: Seng
you will need to increase to 3/4 size this is needed for flow of gas you have 3/4 to 1 coming in so you may need to run new pipe from the point that it goes to 1/2 if you try to keep the 1/2 it will not work correct

I have 2 bathrooms. Will this support 2 running showers at the same time?

Asked by: Angela
You can, if both showers use the minimal amount of water possible- i.e. 1.5 gal/min... otherwise you will have to adjust to a reduced temperature for your shower.

does it work well with hard water?

I talked to an electrician to have it install and he told me that these type of water heaters don't last if you have hard water in your city, he said that even if you install a water softener device. with the water softener filter it will last a little longer but then again the parts are hard to find and are very expensive, he dint recommend it. what do you have to say about that?
Asked by: Chago
you must run the unit with water filters id say a 5 or 10 micron filter and it needs the water to be soft or it will build up deposits in the heat exchanger mfg says to flush with a flushing kit at least 1 times per year I have had a unit for over 8 years and have not flushed it yet hope this helps

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Different than a tank, but probably for the better I left off a star because I sent a email asking how to return it and they never got back to me. Obviously, I changed my mind - it seemed to work better after it got broke in. My issue was the amount of flow needed to make it come on, but now it seems about right - a dribble or small stream won;t do it, but a half on faucet will. Unit can heat the water - I think you could shower all day with this and never run out of hot water. I can't think of a reason to go back to a tank - except maybe having hot water during a power outage. Why have 40 gallons of hot water sitting around waiting for you when this will get you what you need in an instant?

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Tankless vs tank water heater It takes some time to adjust water temp but once you get it right its great. You need to remember it needs to use a fair amount of water so if you have water saver shower heads your not going to be very happy. To date I have only used it during the summer but expect it to be as good if not better during winter where there is more of a load for the unit. Hot water isn't instant but when it does get hot it will stay hot. I have read where some are getting cold spots when using and I think that is a problem where not enough water is going thru unit and it wants to cycle, remember it likes constant water flow and a fair rate. Read instructions for setting water temp and start low working higher not vise versa, you will get there quicker. If you are use to having scolding hot water at the tap I think you should stay with a hot water tank. but if 110 deg. water is sufficient then I think you will be very pleased.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Missy Smith Extremely Easy to install and works great. one note it will freeze if in an unheated space since it only heats when using water

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome tankless water heater I bought one of these for my cabin in Jan. It heats the water instantly and was very easy to instal. I would note that precautions need to be taken when it's freezing out. Water does freeze so I should keep a slow drip to prevent your water heater from getting dragged. Thats obvious what happened in one of the other reviews.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Unit for Small Application I installed this unit in my workshop to supply hot water for the small bathroom. This replaced a small 5 gallon 110V AC unit that was working well, but I wanted something more efficient. The installation was very easy. (I'm not a licensed plumber, but have a lot of experience thanks to my dad being one) The total install time from start to running hot water was about 2 hours, including running a gas line, re-running cold and hot water lines and moving the electrical line. From a cold start, I get really hot water at a good flow in about eleven (11) seconds, mostly due to the length of the run from the unit to the faucet. You must open the faucet at least 1/2 open or more to engage the flow sensor and fire the unit. After that, the moment you shut the hot water off, the flame shuts off and the fan will run on the unit to clear the exhaust and cool down. No more heating water in a tank that might get used once or twice a week. PERFECT for small applications like a workshop, cabin, tiny house etc. Could very easily work on larger home applications with only one full and perhaps an addition 1/2 bath.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Tankless Water Heater If you use one of these for radiant floor heating, remove the flow restrictor or it will not work right. If you need factory tech support, be patient because it will take time for them to call you back and they will tell you that radiant floor heating is not a good application for this. As an instantaneous water heater, it is outstanding. For radiant floor heating with the flow restrictor removed and a good flow rate, it is a good unit.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from pure garbage It shipped from Illinois to California, but it was made in China- that alone is an indictment, in my opinion. The miserable thing worked erratically half a dozen times and then gave me a cold shower half way through, and that was its final salute. I had expected something I saw in Belgium some 35 years ago, but this abomination is idiotically loaded with useless and pointless electronic brains in amounts greater than those of the yokels who invented it. If they are all alike, the devil take them all, as they are not IN PRINCIPLE, repairable, nor diagnosable by ordinary persons.
