Just a slight ironing to get out the packaging wrinkles, not too bad though. There is no liner, so you do see the dark curtains from the outside of the house, but not a big deal to me. They are a medium/heavy weight curtain, and there is a weave to the material giving it some texture. Overall, a great product!

They still allow in some light. They are also patterned, which you can't see clearly from the images. The quality and style is just okay - it's a shame so few companies make curtains and offer so few styles and colors.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not "blackout" We were super bummed about these! We have wanted blackout curtains and finally bit the bullet- when the sun hits these it's pretty much like a normal curtain. They're more like dimming curtains than blackout

They are not for a movie theater room, but great for darkening and keeping Florida heat out. Very good value.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Thermal Curtains I bought these curtains for heat reduction. I have a south facing apartment, and the Phoenix sun is intense. They do the job. The material is thick, heavy, and opaque. Since these curtains are marketed for blackout purposes, I'd like to address that feature. If I had to quantify the curtain's blackout properties, I'd say that 95% of the light is blocked. Tiny specks of light peep through the fabric weave which is fine if I'm taking a daytime nap, but this would not be good for a home theater. This particular product is from Eclipse's mid-range line called Thermaweave. If you have a home theater or need 100% blackout, then opt for the Eclipse's high-end line called Thermalayer. Or better yet, go with Eclipse AbsoluteZero curtains.
