Would this border hold up to a home daycare playground? I'm concerned about children stepping on it.

Asked by: MissNeece
Theoretically yes, but I would not use it in that context because there will inevitably be a large child who will stomp on it & ruin it.

4 ft. Brown Rubber Landscape Edging is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 52.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love using these borders Used our first set several years ago now. They work so much better and are easier to install than other types of edging we've used. Well put the vertical edge up against the sidewalk, works great. When edging garden areas, the flat ground piece allows us to run lawnmower wheels on it to get clean cutting along the edging. No having to come back and trim. They are very flexible so they require minimal cutting to use in a tight radius. So far the provided spikes to anchor these sections have held up well. Only a couple places in the spring have needed to be pounded back down after the frost heaved them up slightly. Each year we've used these to replace more of our old edging. Next summer should finish the job. Our only fear is for some insane reason they stop carrying these. We really love using these.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Looks pretty nice, cutting can be a challenge. We just installed this yesterday/today around our tree. It looks pretty nice, I was surprised. Tip #1: buy the product from the same shipping box if possible. Like everything else that's dyed, there are color variances. We made a 22' ring and per the manufacturers website we cut the ends on small angles to better shape the joints. However, they say to cut both ends on an angle. I did this and it still didn't fit quite right. Tip #2: I found taking one angle cut end (the right ends were cut by me) and joining it to the straight/flat (the left uncut end) end worked rather well. Cutting is more of a nuisance than labor intensive. I used a hacksaw with an 18 tooth blade. The problem cutting isn't really the cutting, it's the product wiggling around with each stroke of the saw. Tip 3: The most important tip! It will save you energy! Spray your blade with WD40 before each cut! You'll find it cuts like butter compared to not using it! :)

It is more expensive than other similar edging products, but the results and presentation is superior for mulch control and appearance. I have used it very effectively along driveway and sidewalks as well as on decorative curved flower beds. It also works beautifully when placing the vertical mulch control edge on the flowerbed side and butting the "nailing edge" up against the bed edge to provide a clean conforming shape for the bed. I also put down a thin layer of decorative river pebble rocks for a nice decorative touch...looks wonderful from a curb appeal standpoint!

They look beautiful, held up great over the winter. I especially love the way they are so bendable for around corners and made from recycled rubber. Even if they fade, I will spray paint or stain them, but so far they have held up great. Got a few more the other day to border another area. I did notice the price went up a little since last year, as well as everything usually does. As you can see from the picture, it is winter, but when all the perinnials and hosta appear, it is beautiful! the best part is that my push mower wheel can go right on the edge, so no more weed wacking is needed!

Before attaching anything, I laid out the pattern for roughly 1/3 of the small enclosure. The plastic pins which connect the pieces all broke. The pieces themselves would not bend, even tho it was to be only a very SLIGHT bend. JUNK! Can only give 1 star but would like to give minus 5 stars.

It is pricey but it comes with everything you need and it's easy to install. I bought less expensive products, but by the time I went back to get extra stakes it would have been better to buy the EcoBorder.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from best on the market well like others have said it is extremely good product. But it still has room for improvement. 1. Could be a little more flexible 2. Could be offered in custom shapes as a special order of course. 3. joining pins could be improved by adding a medal bracket and screws of sorts so you won't get splits. 4. best way I've cut them so far is to use a chop saw even if you get that rubber smelling smoke. better than trying to hand saw it. The minimum I was able to use was 5 and still maintained a circle not all these weired angles recommended. With a little extra cost in medal brackets I was able to achieve that.
