It's pretty straight forward, if you had ever replaced a water faucet, you should be able to do it.

I believe you can but you will need the T connector from Home Depot or hardware store. The T connector is not provided. FYI... I was planning to do it in the future so I can get some filtered ice from the fridge.

They tell you to replace it every 6 months. But, every time I tested the water it was still good. It was between 15 - 30 ppm. So, I waited until a year to replace it.

Thank you for your inquiry. While filter life varies with local water conditions and volume of water used, typically you will need to change the pre/post filters every 6 months and the Reverse Osmosis membrane every 1-3 years.

This unit produces at a ratio of, approximately, one to three. Or, 1 gallon of great tasting water to 3 gallons of "waste water" that is basically regular water without chlorine or particulates. This water can be used for gardening, cleaning or washing. I live in Florida so I'm working on getting this "waste water" into my flower bed as the drain tube from the "waste water" has no pressure - it's all gravity feed. I'm a Professional Engineer and as you, was concerned with the "costs of operation." Besides the obvious environmental advantage of not having to buy plastic bottles with dubious water content, the cost of a gallon of tap water, here in Florida, is, approximately, $0.025/gal. So, running my unit costs me $0.10 for every gallon of drinkable water. I'm saving about $0.90 each time I don't buy a gallon of plastic bottled water from a dollar store at $1.00/gal. If you do "amortization" or "ROI" you'll "pay back" your RO unit in less than a year, including the 6 months Filter cartridge and the RO cartridges changes. Read Less

Thank you for your inquiry. This system is not designed to reduce sulfur. You will need a specialized system to treat your water for sulfur.

Hi Wayne.
This system will not work as you would like it to. The Hydrogen gas in the well water will need to be aerated or chemically treated to remove the odor and taste of sulpher.
To remove hydrogen gas and sulpher taste and sulpher odor you will need to use an aeration system and/or an automatic chlorinator system.

A whole house system from APEC Water Systems with the Iron Hydro Water Filter System will be necessary. Have your water tested for Hydrogen Sulfide first to know what your levels are.

Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 18 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent RO System This RO system produces terrific water. Because this was a replacement, the installation went smoothly as I already had the connections to the house systems. I used the "alternate" drain method to avoid all the faucet problems you read about. It does make water a lot quicker than my older unit. I haven't checked into finding replacement cartridges yet, but the easy on - easy off is more promising than the cheaper filter-in-a-sump design. Even tho it is a higher capacity than my older unit, it takes up less space under the sink; a pleasant surprise. It's been in for one month and doing fine. June 28, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good Filtered Water The compact design of this unit makes it very easy for under the sink installation. I have experience with other filtration systems and found this unit to be extremely easy to install. March 30, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by From 478 ppm To 13 ppm TDS real deal but bit expensive and hard complicated to install February 23, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by dripping faucet The faucet works good until you have a dripping faucet. There is no replacement parts so you have to replace the faucet. It's bad enough to have to purchase a new faucet but it's a major hassle to replace. I would NOT recommend this product!! February 9, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Tastes Great!!! I am very pleased with this RO system. I was a great fan of Costco brand bottle water. This water taste better than the Costco brand water. It is easy to install. Now we have no more mess in the garage with recycle bottle and we do not need to rush to store to buy bottle water. Now I have no mess in my garage with recycle bottles and do not need to rush to store to buy water. When I tested it the water, it was 17 ppm. I highly recommended this product. Only thing you have to remember is to insert the pipes little harder when you install otherwise it may leak. October 7, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by So Far So Good This RO system was bought as a replacement for a Sears product which crapped out. It fits nicely under the sink and so far has proven to be use to use and reliable. December 16, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by RO Water Filtration System This system delivers clean clear water much quicker than my previous systems, and is more compact and easier to service. A very good product. December 8, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Product We first installed this product 5 years ago. It has performed well for all that time. Recently we updated our kitchen and disassembled and reinstalled the system. The color coded hoses and quick release fittings allowed the system to come apart and be reassembled with ease. After purging the system, the water quality is still great. November 6, 2015
