Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Thisisme 2nd and last time I buy this brand.
The bulb does require a warm up period before reaching maximum brightness and neither bulb achieves anywhere near the 100 watt advertised I don't believe. I used a 75 watt cfl of another brand previously and it was brighter than either of these ecosmart bulbs. No cost savings if I have to start adding additional lamps and bulbs to the room.
One of the bulbs is no brighter than the 25 watt incandescent on my entertainment center. Will probably return these (if they will take them back) and go get the other brand.

This is the first fluroscent bulb I've ever bought that appears to be brighter than the equivalent 100 watt incandescent bulb. I am using the bulbs in my basement workshop and am really pleased to find they do a good job of illuminating a previously dimly lit area (I am replacing 100 watt incandescent bulbs with these fluroscents). I believe the brightness is greatly enhanced by the "bright white" technology rather than the "soft white"...I only know it's a night-to-day difference. NOTE: As is common, the bulb requires a short "warm up" period to reach full brightness.

The light is not bright white. It has a noticeable yellow tinge to it. One of them stopped working in around 4 hours after switching them on. The other one thankfully works.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Vincenzo excellent "warm white" alternative
The bulbs are some of my favorite CFL's since they have much better color tone than competing products which cast that often nasty “warm white” light. I use these bulbs all around the house where I want real nice quality light that I feel more accurately illuminates and looks much better than incandescent and “warm white” or “daylight” CFL's. The only drawback I've noticed on these bulbs is that they do have a brief warm up time (keep in mind the bigger the bulb the longer the warm up time I've noticed) and the lack of air vents on the bulb base for it to be able to breath is very disconcerting. As such I don't expect the advertised life to be what they suggest but none the less I'm happy I found these as they're totally worth it for the better light color, reduced electricity usage, and for the luminosity derived.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Josh Good bulbs
We first tried daylight bulbs and they were too white and too cold appearing. So we tried the soft white bulbs and they were too yellow, or what they refer in the light bulb busienss as "warm." I was beginning to get frustrated since they are now phasing out incandescents and I wasn't having luck finding bulbs similar in light to incandescents. Finally tried these bright white bulbs and I think they are perfect, these are the most similar to incandescents I have found. Only slightly whiter in a good way I feel. As one reviewer said they are not pure white, if you are looking for that go for daylight spectrum, which was definately more white, just too cold appearing for me. These are the perfect level of warmth/white for our home. I just wish the 100w came in the cheaper 4 pack, but I feel definatley worth the extra cost. They do come with a warrenty as well. Also, check you local power company, mine gave me a 50% back rebate, which makes cfls tough to pass up.
