Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Drew117 I don't like real bright lights on our front porch and we close it in for the winter and have a heater so we can set and relax and watch it snow. I LOVE these lights. They give you just enough to not be overly bright. Since they use less electric I won't worry so much about having them on for longer periods of time.

Home Depot apparently just wants to get the after holiday items out the door and prices them accordingly. I make it a point to visit them.

Over the past few years, I've purchased 8 or 9 of these and 3 have failed almost immediately. Each have had one socket actually fall off. As I'm not an electrician, so I'm not sure how to rewire. These are not cheap, but once I started with this size light, color, I'm stuck with these as other manufactures are difficult to find.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by RECARLISLE Fine string of lights
It remains to be seen if the near $40 per string with 7 year warranty will be worth it. I would have been much more comfortable at $30 per string. A couple of the weatherproofing covers were missing, that was annoying. They do stand out and are very noticeable from a half mile away, which would be more if I could get line of sight beyond that. They do seem much better than your garden variety light strings.

Last year I bought two strands of these lights. This year I bought another. The strand I bought this year had a number of lights where the bulbs where the bulb covers fell off too easily. For most I was able to screw them in tight, but there were no extra covers to use. One of the bulbs in the middle of the strand wouldn't take a new cover.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by CTGuy Great Product, but be careful
Product is exactly as described, but we had an issue with our strands. When we went to hang the lights we didn't notice that almost every single bulb cover was loose. While hanging the lights covers would unscrew and fall to the ground, while none broke, we are missing some now. Out of the 5 strands we bought after Christmas 2014, all of them needed the bulb covers tightened. Be forewarned! We are working with The Home Depot customer service to find replacement covers.

This was my second effort this year to run 700 feet of lights. The first group had two shades of light. I returned them and ordered new reels that had several lengths that had gaps of lights that never worked.i will return and try something else next year.

These look much much better than I was expecting! We decided to go with all white lights this year on the tree and wanted a set of C9 sized bulbs to accompany our smaller tea lights. I wanted a C( sized bulb with a clear or smooth covering, but all I could find was these with the "diamond cut" covers. I'll admit, at first glance I was pretty skeptical these would look good, but decided to give them a try as HD has a generous return policy. I also liked the "warm" LED feature, as I don't favor the ultra white/bluish glare of other white LED's I've seen. Upon taking them out of the packaging and plugging them in, I was pleasantly surprised by the weight and the look of these. They are really quite heavy and feel very solid. The glow from the light was indeed a "warm" more yellow glow of the old fashioned white lights, and I actually liked the look of the faceted covers quite a bit. I draped one string to see what they looked like on the tree, and my wife and I loved the look. After putting them on the effect was really nice. Big, while old style lights! And they barely emit any heat - in fact im not sure they emit any heat at all which makes for easy hanging and certainly will prolong the life of the tree! The only complaint I have, and it's a minor one, is the little clips along the side of the socket are really too small and stiff to actually clip the bulb to a branch. It really didn't matter at all to me - I just positioned them where I wanted them on the branches and was able to adjust the height and depth as I moved along the tree. All in all a really nice set of lights!! Perfect old school light look,. no garish blue LED Glow, solid plastic that wont break into 1000 pieces when you drop one, and cool to the touch! I would def. buy more of these or buy this manufacturer's product again.
