What this bulb lacks in style, it makes up for in savings. I use mine in my porch light that I leave on all night. I found that the soft white creates a comparable color hue as an incandescent soft white bulb. Maybe a little more on the orange side, like a security light you see in the country. I also tried it in my entry light with 2 other incandescent candelabras and the color looked similar enough that I didn't notice a difference. I also didn't see any jitteriness that I see with LED Christmas lights. The only thing I don't like is that almost half the bulb is a plastic base. If you are thinking of using these in fixtures where the bulb is visible, this design feature kind of detracts from the esthetics of the light fixture. I don't exactly like how they look in my porch light, since it's a carriage light, but since I don't spend much time outside and no one can tell from the road, I can live with that.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0Â by EightOfEight looks weird next to the older style bulbs
My dining room light has 5 shades. These newfangled bulbs are slightly larger than the older style of incandescent bulb, and that bugs me because my light is styled in such a way that the tips of the bulbs are visible from the bottom. Until the other 4 bulbs burn out, I am stuck with being able to see how this bulb doesn't match the others. Plus, since the part of the light near the stem is solid/opaque, no light comes out of that part of the bulb; whereas with the old style bulb, the light shone out of every direction. It looks odd to have 4 of the light shades completely lit up but the light shade over this new bulb is lit only on the bottom half.
If you are the type of person who doesn't notice that a picture frame is hanging slightly crooked, then you won't be bothered by the difference. But for me, I will have to replace the other 4 bulbs now or it will drive me batty.

This light bulb is really well made and is also dimmable. Solid and durable. It is perfect for my hallway and I have tried to take a couple of pictures for you so you can see that the light does spread out. I am really liking the LED lightbulbs. They last so long and really cut down on your electric bill. This is the 'soft light' and is wonderful for me because I leave this light on all night. Recommend highly.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0Â by Mrsbowe Great little bulb
I have a very old ornate lamp that has 4 candelabra lights that sit just below the shade and when they are lit it hurts your eyes if you look at them - even the frosted ones.
The best benefit of this new 4W bulb is the base sits just below the shade level and the light is under the shade - almost like it was manufactured for these old antique lamps.
This little 4W bulb is every bit as bright as the old style. I'm glad I had the opportunity to try it out, which makes me really anxious to receive the 6 pack that was shipped a month ago.
I definitely recommend this bulb and know it's going to last many, many years!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0Â by lilrabbit Very "traditional" color. Nice for a chandelier or wall sconce.
Unlike the first LED bulbs to hit the market, which added a sort of blue cast to everything, this lamp gives off light that is much like that of a traditional incandescent filament bulb and would work well in a candelabra/chandelier/wall sconce type of light fixture. It will also fit a nightlight fixture, but it's really too bright for a nightlight.
After messing around with it in a couple of different locations, I put it in the work light receptacle of my drill press. Drawing only 4 watts, this "25 watt equivalent" bulb is a great improvement over the 15 watt incandescent bulb, which was the maximum that the drill press could handle.
