I put 3 of these bulbs in my candelabra base lamp post light in the middle of my front yard almost 2 1/2 years ago. They come on every time I hit the switch and have been left on when out of town for entire weekends along with all night every night and are still going strong. I replaced 3 40 watt incandescents that had all burned out shortly after I moved in and they provide plenty of light in comparison. They are slow to come on in cold weather, but great for this enclosed outdoor application.

I purchased this product on Saturday the 9th and already one of the lights has burned out 2 days later. There are clear brown char marks on the gas coil inside. The other bulb is still working fine.
The soft light color matched closely to the other incandescent bulbs if you don't mind the warm up time of a few minutes. Overall I was happy with them at first, but now disappointed since I paid almost $7.50 a bulb. Be sure to keep the original packing and receipt.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Bigguy Shorter life than expected
I have bought several of these for a chandalier. They have a 9 year warrenty. Unfortunately, I've had a couple of the bulbs burn out in only 1-2 years. We do not use the light excessively, so I was expecting the bulbs to last longer. The light given off is great and they do dim using a CFL dimmer, but they do occassionally flicker.

We purchased these lights for the dining room where we have a dimmer. Very disappointed in the lack of brightness even for 25W equivalent. We are upgrading all bulbs to LED.

The two light bulbs in the package have slightly different light intensities and color (one is whiter than the other one), and long warmup times. I have a light fixture that requires 3 bulbs, and I put those two bulbs in addition to a more expensive LED bulb from Philips. Man, the LED bulb outperforms those CFLs big time! I'll never buy those CFLs again. Go LED directly.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by FloridaFloozy I love the converter bottoms that allow one bulb to fit a large or small base--very handy!
I had not seen the size converters previously and had an instance where I couldn't remember which one I needed. These were perfect! Saved me another trip to the store. I have used them for several weeks but not long enough to verify that the cost justifies the convenience but it certainly did the day I needed them.

Great for dimming as long as you use a dimmer switch made for using LED Bulbs

After a few hours of use, some liquid started condensing onto the inside of the outer bulb. The light output has a significant amount of line frequency in it unlike high quality CFLs and causes rainbow effect with moving objects just like with fluorescent lights operated on a magnetic ballast.
