It is true, they are brighter than my 50w halogen lights. For my fixture, it would have been nice if there was just one led light facing backwards but it's a non factor. As you can see in the picture, the LED light is on the right, and casts a cleaner brighter light than the halogen lamp. Truly impressive.

Fits the fixtures better than the incandescent lamps with a white light instead of the yellowish and remains cool

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by MrMark failed after one year
I really liked this...for almost a year. Then it failed, filling the room with the smell of burning electronics.
I tried to replace it with another brand from Home Depot, but that one had an unacceptably narrow beam pattern...not nearly as good for my range hood application.
FWIW, I never heard any noise from mine (I have two). I ran them about 16 hours per day and had my head close to them when cooking, so I certainly would have heard them if they were making noise within the frequency range of my hearing.
I might try to find these at another store and hope that the first failure was a fluke...I really liked it other than the failure.

I installed 5 of these into 4" recessed task lighting over my kitchen counters. They are significantly brighter that the halogens I pulled and they run cool to the touch. The halogens would get so hot that I often made me nervous, you could not even touch the metal trim pieces of the lights as they would get so hot. These completely fixed it. The light that they emit is a much whiter light that worked out so much better for task lighting applications. There is an audible hum from the lights but between the fridge, the air conditioner/heater, etc it's not bothersome to me at all.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by tsymyn First of the really acceptable LED bulbs
These are the fourth kind of LED GU10 equivalent bulbs we've tried, and the first we've stuck with. The color is very close to a normal halogen. We switched from Reveal halogen bulbs to these. The color is not as warm, but it's completely acceptable. They truly are instant on (most of the competitors are not) and are probably really closer in brightness to a 50W GU10 than the 20W they claim to replace. We don't notice the room being dim at all with these. And the real plus is that they've lowered the power usage of our eight-light track from 400W to 48W, with a comparable reduction in heat, which is alone worth the price as many days in a row as it's been over 100 here. We're very satisfied and haven't hesitated to try this brand for other bulbs, too.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by JP56 Perfect for my purposes
I purchased one of these to try in a stove hood with a fan & lights, where the regular appliance type bulbs were constantly burning out. Only purchased one because I was not sure if it would fit into the unit because of very close tolerances inside it (the regular bulbs barely fit). It had about the same amount of clearance for installing/removing as the regular bulbs. Works & looks great. Must get another one now.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Wayne Good level of brightness, excited for the $$$ savings
This is my second attempt at using MR16 LED floodlights. My first attempt 3-4 years ago didn't end well. I ended up with LED lights that were much dimmer than expected.
This time around I'm very happy with these bulbs. They're brighter than I expected and fill my office with a good amount of light. They're not as warm as I expected though given the "warm" description on the label. That said, for a home office, the whiteness of the light is okay and I'm happy I now only use 18W to illuminate the room instead of the 150W I formerly used.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by InTheDark Good LED for GU10 sockets
The only drawback to this LED is the lack of a diffuser.
The light is very bright and hard on the eyes if looked
at directly. Also note that the color temperature is
hotter than the old incandescent lights, with a yellowish
cast rather than the somewhat cooler orange glow we've all
known for years.
But it provides plenty of light with just 6 watts, so works
fine in ceiling tracks/sockets, or for indirect lighting. Given
its expected lifetime, I'd recommend this for any situation
where it could be used if glare is not a problem.
