I bought these to replace the halogen light bulbs under a ceiling fan. The halogen bulbs only lasted a year or two, so if these bulbs last as long as they are suppose to they will be a money saver. Plus they give off much less heat and they look good.

I was truly surprised with the amount of subdued yellow light from this 4watt led bulb. It is compact , but larger than a candle bulb and it has a standard base to fit lamps and most fixtures. I really like this bulb for a 24/7 night light. However it almost produces enough light to read by comfortably. I will be replacing several cfl bulbs with this led soon.

Put 4 of these in a ceiling fan with 4 exposed lights (clear beveled glass covers) and they look just as good as the incandescents they replaced (even the wife approved). I closely compared these to the Philips Equivalent (150, 180 & 200 lumens bulbs, all with the same HD SKU#) and these were slightly brighter and, in my opinion, looked more decorative (less industrial; the Philips bulbs did not seem to be as soft white and they did not have an even a dispersion as ecoSmart. And both claimed the same 22+ year life (I'm saving my receipts ;-). Just wish they discounted for quantities, seems like I should get a better deal when I buy more (like 4 at a time). Also wish the store kept more in stock; had to go to 2 stores to find 4 matching bulbs. And as I write this review, I can't get more than 3 from my adjacent stores (3 within 5 miles - so spoiled).

Rated 4 out of 5Â by DIYinOH Great low energy replacement for accent lights
I've had this in a wall sconce unit for a few days now and the brightness is as good or better than an old incandescent.
Color is close, very very close, but LEDs still have a slightly unnatural hue to them. I only notice because I'm running one sconce with the LED bulb and one with an incandescent so I can do a side by side comparison. If both were LED I doubt I would notice the color.
Heat output is zero. My incandescent unit is hot to the touch after just a few minutes of use, this unit can run all night and be as cool as an "off" bulb.
Overall I would call it an excellent low energy replacement.

Used for a bedroom lamp and the bulb puts off a warm yellow glow. I can't tell the difference between this and the typical incandescent bulbs we have been using. Can't comment on how well it dims.
