Rated 2 out of 5 by Too Wide and Feels Cheap This was my second LED bulb purchase, after I was very pleased with a different brand's 60w equivalent. That brand did not have a 40w daylight bulb, however, so I tried this one. This bulb has very large unlit area at the top and bottom, providing only a ring of light around the middle. The lit area is covered by two plastic deflector rings that are loose and rattle around. I also found that this bulb is about a quarter of an inch wider in the middle, which made the difference between this bulb not fitting where another LED bulb did. I ended up having to cut off the plastic rings to make the bulb fit, leaving the ring of LEDs exposed. This worked since the bulb is in a frosted enclosure, but otherwise the size (larger than standard A19 or CFL/LED equivalent) would be a major issue. August 4, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by bright white light I was actually hoping for a warmer white light. This is a very cool white color, I do like the design of it, the light is more equal with this LED bulb, as some of them only point upward. This light has a more even output. The bulb you should know for a bulb, is well....heavy. So if you have a great spot to light, want a white light that is dimmable, this is for you!!! March 13, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by Disappointing This produces a great white light that is bright. I was disappointed though when I removed it from the fixture it was in the light bulb base stayed in the fixture. I removed it carefully with the light switch off. Then with a little wire bending I was able to get it back together and working. Quality could be better in my opinion. August 14, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good replacement bulb This is a very bright light and produces a very nice white light as opposed to your yellowish shades which I personally prefer. The price was a little high, but it may end up being worth it depending on the affect on my energy bills and how long it lasts. June 24, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Funny looking bulb I installed one bulb in a ceiling fan and left the other four as incandescent. On the positive side, it sheds more light for the amount of watts used and it doesn't get very hot. There is no "hum" from the bulb, which is why I don't have CFLs in that fixture. Also, it should last a very long time. I am a fan of cool lighting-- somewhere in the 5K Kelvin range. But the color of this bulb is a bit too stark. It's funny looking and possibly over-engineered. I may buy a few more of these bulbs just because of the humming factor, but I won't re-do the entire house. April 29, 2013
